The Trumpiad –Part II: This Is Sparta (You Helots)!

George and all:
Please tell me what accompishments Trump has made for the betterment of our country.
I am looking at what he has actually done but I don’t see anything that I have gained from his presidency. I’m a lifelong semi-democrat retired civil service person on the left coast. And I am 85 years old, grown up under FDR and all his successors. Not really politically minded but just interested in what my kids and grandkids will inherit. So please tell me what the last four years have brought to our actual country: infrastructure, plaudits from other lands, peace to the world, fewer military bases in other lands, lowering of climate change, etc.

The Cavalry to the Rescue?

Peter, don’t just email the guy! Phone calls even if not returned are helpful, and then there is the US Post Office.
I’ve heard that people on high will often delete emails that bug them, but feel that a letter actually written by someone is worthy of an answer. and of course, if you live close enough, you can actually go to where +Nikon is and ask him personally (nicely of course, with the obligatory poklon!)

Jonah in His Own Words. AXIOS!

Seraphimista, can you spell out in some detail what Bishop Mark has ‘done to St. Seraphim’s Cathedral?
I’ve heard rumors about wanting to change the music and suspending a priest etc. but other than that, what has he actually done there?

why do some people hate him so much, or at the least, distrust him?
I’m in the DOW and to understand this, details are important.

I heard a story some time ago:
Satan was standing outside a church weeping bitterly. A person came up and asked him:
“Why are you crying?”
Satan replied: “I’m crying because they blame everything on me!”

The (Unzippered) Ruling Class

George, have you forgotten a former president, George W. Bush, who waged war on a foreign country because he believed a mythical report of weapons of mass destruction? I believe his family would consider themselves to be a part of the ‘ruling class’. At least they acted that way.
