Update From Helleniscope

Dear Friends,

I thank from the bottom of my heart all of you who are worried about Helleniscope and reached out to me via phone or email.  Our website will soon be back online and at the forefront of the fight for the truth!

Also, tomorrow, Saturday, February 11, at noon, a demonstration will be held outside Saint Irene Chrysovalantou in Astoria (36-07 23rd Ave, Astoria, NY 11105).  This demonstration will protest the actions of Bishop Ierotheos and the Patriarchate of Constantinople to change the charters of parishes at will violating New York State laws and our religious freedom as prescribed by our American Constitution.

Best Wishes to All,

Nick Stamatakis

  1. Looks as if the powers that be have taken a page or two or three from The Episcopal Church playbook.

  2. This website is a virus bringing nothing but disease to the Holy Orthodox Church. Repent and cease your incitement of schismatic disobedience.

    • Gail Sheppard says

What in the world is “schismatic disobedience?!”

      • Johann Sebastian says

He seems to be living in a world where schismatics are legitimized and the canonical ones marginalized.

      • I can think of quite a few definitions of schismatic disobedience, all of which are facetious in the context of the accusation hurled above.

        • Gail Sheppard says

I’ve heard some say that the worst thing a bishop can do is cause a schism.

Schism starts in the heart. When you have one bishop whose heart cares more about the things of world than the Church, it breaks the Church.

I remember a meeting the bishops had in 2017 in Moscow. They were all invited, and even those who couldn’t breathe the same air were there, but not the EP. He thought a better use of his time was to boycott Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capitol.

          • Speaking of schismatics, or the lack of recognition of them. The Church of Czech Lands-Slovakia has recognized the autocephaly of the Church of Macedonia. The second Church in the past week, the other being Romania.

And still no other Church has recognized the OCU.
            Bartholomew’s lack of relevance continues.

If I remember right the Russian government has also started a task force to come to the aid of Christians in Ukraine. Will be interesting to see what that entails.

      • Deacon John says

        Who talks like that?

I think I’m having Helleniscope withdrawal symptoms

    • When did truth become a disease?

    • Good Sunday, Gregorios. Sad to say, but the Church where we were raised doesn’t have only a virus, but a panoply of malignant diseases. Any one of these malignancies can be fatal. Just look at how many ppl no longer attend services, let alone contribute as stewards. The Church as physician needs to heal itself first, if it’s also supposed to heal us.

If you don’t know about or acknowledge that you have a “virus,” how can it be treated? Our friend at Helleniscope is bringing issues to light. Not to be mean, but to inform us so that we can act, of not, on the presentation. At least to think about it.

How wonderful it is to be able to read articles and discuss them w others? Agree/disagree -> strength. Click on/click off -> up to you. But never cancel. Cancel = weakness.
