There have been many who questioned what precipitated Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Truth be told, there was more than one casus belli. The aggression of the Eastern Ukrainians was one such cause. The willingness of Zelensky to allow nuclear missiles into his country was another.
However, it has recently come to our attention that the final straw was the presence of biolabs. According to the map below, there were eleven such biolabs in Ukraine:
The DoD Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has funded 11 bio-laboratories in the former Soviet Union Country Ukraine, bordering on Russia. They work with the Ministry of Health in Ukraine.
Among the set of bilateral agreements between the US and Ukraine is the establishment of the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) – an International organization funded mainly by the US government which has been accorded diplomatic status.
The STCU officially supports projects of scientists previously involved in the Soviet biological weapons program. Over the past 20 years, the STCU has invested over $285 million in funding and managing some 1,850 projects of scientists who previously worked on the development of weapons of mass destruction.

Black & Veatch Special Project Corp. was awarded $198.7 million DTRA contracts to build and operate bio-laboratories in Ukraine (under two 5-year contracts in 2008 and 2012 totaling $128.5 million), as well as in Germany, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Thailand, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Armenia.
Metabiota has been awarded an $18.4 million federal contract under the program in Georgia and Ukraine. This US company was also contracted to perform work for the DTRA before and during the Ebola crisis in West Africa, the company was awarded $3.1 million (2012-2015) for work in Sierra Leone.
Southern Research Institute has been a prime subcontractor under the DTRA program in Ukraine since 2008. The company was also a prime Pentagon contractor in the past under the US Biological Weapons Program for research and development of bio-agents with 16 contracts between 1951 and 1962. The State dept says so… LOL. Since when does anyone believe anything the State dept says or does except perhaps the bought and paid for corporate media.
Bottom line is that Russia should have the whole thing wrapped up in another week and we’ll know if the sanctions are going to backfire in a few months. At that point, we’ll know for sure who was lying to us.

George F, how do you explain the fact that Victoria Nuland admitted that there were indeed biolabs in the Ukraine yesterday? My opinion is that she had to “get ahead of the story” and Sen Marco Rubio soft-balled her, basically “leading” the witness.
Anyway, it’s no more a “conspiracy theory” or an “open question” whether there were/are biolabs in the Ukraine. Now what matters is (1) who financed them, (2) who operated them, and (3) what kind of “research” was going on in them?
Given the manifest lies that have been shoved down our throats these last two years, I see no reason to believe anything that comes from the Deep State.

I wasn’t questioning the existence of the biolabs. There are biolabs all of the world. I was at one about a month ago for bloodwork. What I do question is the credibility of the source and the insinuation that the labs were weaponizing biological agents. Just the mention of biolabs in the context of war is a subtle form of propaganda that can lead to all kinds of wacky narratives.
1./2. Who financed them? DoD in order to safely secure biological material after the Soviet collapse and repurpose the labs
3. The most likely and reasonable purpose for research would be, like it is in most places in the world, to support public health and agriculture.

Yeah, pretty much that. This particular disinformation campaign relies on misrepresenting the DTRA. It presumes the targets are either going to 1) not bother to investigate what it actually is and what it does, or 2) refuse to believe the actual truth, because it contradicts their existing beliefs.
Given that this has done the rounds in the QAnon cult and the Covid-19/vaccine conspiracy circles, the latter is pretty much a given.

Thank you for this excellent information. But the Eastern Ukrainians (the Donbas) were not aggressive. They were enduring 8 years of aggression from the Western Ukraine and Ukro-nazis.

I have heard rumors about this but was not sure how much stock to put into them. If true, it is just another nail in the coffin. In a regime change war against Russia fought from the Ukraine, I’m sure the West would rather rely on bioweapons than nuclear weapons since all the fallout might only affect Eastern Slavs; i.e., fight Russia to the last Ukrainian.

Interestingly, they were NOT worried that the Ukrainians could get them.
Some reports are saying everything of importance was relocated out of Ukraine. That may be true or a ruse. When Russia went in that first day they bomb these specific sites which is why I was curious. Why these specific places? It appears as if Russia already knew what they were doing and they just wanted them gone.
They weren’t invading Ukraine. They were trying to take out the U.S. biolabs. That, and trying to keep the separatists safe. Again, what would WE do if this were going on Catalina Island or in Baja, CA?
We already know what the US would do. Witness the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I have seen the exchange between Rubio and Nuland a few times and I think it means that the State Department is considering staging a false flag operation whereby they make it look like the Russians are using bioweapons or chemical weapons and use that as an excuse to intervene directly. I’m not sure what other purpose is served by Nuland’s statement and Rubio’s leading questions. Up until now they’ve denied any such thing existing. Now, it’s out in the open.
Admitting it now, in congressional testimony, in the heat of battle, makes no sense if it is nothing more than a candid admission. It could wait until the dust clears, or until never. But it could be preparing the ground for a false flag or – deep in psych ops – simply threatening to frame the Russians with such an attack since nothing else has deterred them from moving forward with their operations.
That would make sense in terms of the narrative that the “Russians are encountering stiff Ukrainian resistance and are bogged down”; i.e., it would make it more plausible that the Russians would use such weapons if they thought the war was going against them (which it is not).
There is no bottom to the depravity of these vermin.
I think that woman was acknowledging the jig was up and that she is seriously concerned the Russians might be able to get their hands on the research that was done in those labs, as they link the U.S. to COVID.

Victoria Nuland does not say, “Gesundheit!” in public without a purpose. She wasn’t admitting or concerned about anything other than conveying the message she intended.
See, here’s the thing: Rubio asked about weapons. Nuland admitted to “research facilities” without denying weapons. If there were no weapons, she would have simply denied it, “No”, period. OR, if she did not want us to believe there were weapons though there are, she would also have just flat out denied it. So we know that she wants us to know that there are bioweapons there. Now, the second part is just as funky. She is allegedly concerned that those evil Russkies might get a hold of them. (God knows what they might do with them!) And just to make sure no one missed the implications, Rubio elaborates with a leading question that if these weapons were used, it would be by the Russians, and she chimes in that accusations of using such weapons is standard Russian procedure when they themselves are actually the ones using them.
Got it?
Look for a bio weapons attack, probably by the Ukies, which we will blame on Russia.
The Chinese and Russians have been claiming for years that the US is running biological weapons labs in Ukraine, and until this day “fact-checkers” and mainstream media outlets insist it’s disinformation and propaganda. Rubio hesitated to ask Victoria Nuland, a real piece of work if you ask me, and she cautiously answered. Immediately after she ended her sentence, Rubio added (as if to downplay what she just said) that NATURALLY any biological attack could only come from the Russians though.

The Pentagon’s virological laboratories in Ukraine
Still on the subject of American interests in Ukraine, it is worth mentioning the virological laboratories located in Ukraine which are under the control of the Pentagon and where it seems that only US specialists with diplomatic immunity are employed directly under the American Ministry of Defense.
We should also remember the complaint made by Putin regarding the collection of genomic data about the population, which can be used for bacteriological weapons with genetic selection (here, here and here). Information about the activity of laboratories in Ukraine is obviously difficult to confirm, but it is understandable that the Russian Federation considered, not without reason, that these laboratories could constitute an additional bacteriological threat to the safety of the population. The U.S. Embassy has removed all files related to the Biological Threat Reduction Program from its website (here).

You know I wrote to them and to Tucker, personally, when Pfizer said to the FDA that there were 23 unknowns about the vaccine. The only thing they could say with certainty was that the vaccine worked (stopped transmission) and that it was safe. How they would know that in just a few months looking at only 170 of the 38,000 volunteers they recruited, is anybody guess.
The point is it was very easy to prove what I was saying was true and they had no interest in reporting it.

Consider the probability that all the revelations regarding Covid, the vaccine, the Ukrainian biolabs, etc., will get a new and much more vigorous life and hearing (often literally) when Congress changes hands after the November elections. You are going to see a lot of fire breathing rightists like MTG in charge of committees with subpoena power. It will be a very, very rocky two years until the next presidential election after that.
I know what you mean. We don’t need today’s Republicans to fill those seats. We need a new crop of people not associated with either party. I’m convinced they’re acting as one.
