Paraphrasing the English ditty which is in reference to Guy Fawkes’ Day and commemorates the Gunpowder Plot (“Remember, remember, the 5th of November…”), let us as well remember the atrocity which was perpetrated on us by evil men 10 years ago today.
Let us never forget that we are in a struggle with Islamic fascism, pure and simple. Let us pray for the fallen and the redemption of those who believe in this evil creed.
Let us also remember that we are living in a country that is more and more determined to push God out of the picture in so many places. God is a gentleman and will not intrude where He is not wanted. We don’t realize the protection He has given us in the past.

However the excision of God from America is not something that happened because we wanted it to, it happened because our religious elites have acquiesced with their secularist overlords in doing this. On the other hand, those denominations which take God seriously (i.e. the Orthodox), have devolved into ethnic nostalgia cults, hence further pushing the seriousness of belief in God down the tubes.
On the one hand, you have a religious academy which has operated under the principle of higher criticism of the Bible and rationalism (making God extraneous) while on the other you have ethnic cults who are more interested in turf battles (which makes God ridiculous). If one has only two choices –i.e. God being either extraneous or ridiculous–then He becomes beside the point.

BTW in Real Christianity, all matter and created beings are created “good”, so there is no such thing as “evil men”, only the Evil One, under whose influence some men come, or in other words, to whose temptation some men “fall” (or succumb), as well as some women and some children.

True, the Byzantines had to deal with fighting Islam from the 7th century to the 15th while the west didn’t become a real threat until the late 11th century except Italy or Sicily,and of course the Ottoman Empire.
