I was there–the bald guy in the light gray podrasnik in the back. Indeed, the panikhida was beautiful and stirring. I love Byzantine chant done well. Afterward, His Grace Bishop Basil preached a sermon that was utterly magnificent. Too bad it wasn’t recorded. That dear man is a modern-day Golden Mouth.
George, you might want to tweak the title of this post. When I first saw it, I thought for a few seconds that Bishop Basil had reposed. I was stunned! Please add “Archbishop Dmitri” after “His Eminence.”
Amen! Bp. Basil is clearly a man and shepherd who shares the heart, mind, soul and vision of Vladika Dmitri. A most moving and deeply considered tribute to him.
