On the Centenary of the Repose of St Nektarios

A lot of things have been happening over the past few weeks.  Unpleasant things I think all of us can agree on.

Nevertheless, the Lord is still on His throne.

How do I know this?  Sure, we have the assurance of Scripture as to this, but we also have blessings which we can see (if only we would look).  Some of these blessings have to do with the life and times of St Nektarios of Aegina.

For those who may not know, this past Monday (the 9th) was the 100th anniversary of his repose.  Your truly has commented in the past what St Nektarios meant to him personally.  I won’t bore you with the details but only say that like many, I am especially devoted to him.

Anyway, this blessed saint has gone on to bigger and better things.  According to www.orthochristian.com he is now being acknowledged as the patron saint of Namibia:

If you follow the links, you will see other news items having to do with the beloved saint, including an upcoming feature film.

In any event, let us remember that God is glorious in His saints!
