Merry (Belated) Christmas!

2020 has not been the best year for many of us.  That doesn’t mean that we can’t glorify God or be thankful for the manifest gifts He has given us over the years.  The greatest gift of all was His Son, born in a simple manger in an unobtrusive cave some 2,025 years ago, in Bethlehem of Judaea.

Rather than tax my meager skills about what this all means, I kindly direct your attention to this wonderful clip.  The chanting is exquisite and the words put anything I could think up to shame.

Merry Christmas!

  1. Isaiah 9:6-7
    For unto us a child is born,
    Unto us a son is given;
    And the government shall be upon His shoulder.
    And His name shall be called
    Wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
    Of the increase of His government and peace
    There shall be no end. Isaiah 9:6-7

    Matthew 1:21-23
    And she(Mary) will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
    “Behold a virgin shall be with child and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

    Seems to me that Christmas, the Mass of Christ, the mass of the Messiah, is about Jesus, who has come to save us. The name Jesus comes to us from Hebrew Yeshua and means “to deliver, to rescue.
