FTX: A Case of Sleight of Hand

New York Post

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) was the founder and CEO of FTX, the second largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world.  Just days ago, he rocked the crypto world by filing for bankruptcy.

What went wrong?

The backstory is that he invested $39.9 million of his investor’s money, including another $35 million, in three different political action committees dedicated to promoting Democrat causes.  Two of his deputies at FTX gave an additional $29 million making SBF the second-largest individual donor to Democratic causes in the 2021–2022 election cycle, only behind George Soros.

One such cause was to “help” Ukraine.  He took crypto donations, turned the bitcoin into fiat currency, and deposited it into the National Bank of Ukraine.  Someone took the money (St Zelensky?) that was supposed to be for Ukraine and put it back into FTX, allowing SBF to donate the money to other Democrat causes.  — Causes like funding Democrat candidates in blue states so they could keep/win their seats in Congress.

Money laundering at its finest.

He also funded risky bets through a hedge fund he created called Alameda Research.  Caroline Ellison, his girlfriend and CEO, has family ties to the SEC who was rumored to be grooming FTX to take over the crypto market.

In addition, he partnered with the World Economic Forum as a stake holder of Klaus Schwab.  Between $1 billion and $2 billion of investor’s currency disappeared through a “secret back door,” which piqued the interest of the SEC.

The SEC has long had an interest in the crypto world because it’s unregulated.  The demise of FTX just might be the catalyst they need to finally intervene.

When this story was leaked, investors were horrified and started pulling their money out of FTX but there wasn’t much to pull.  SBF had invested so much money, he had no liquid assets to cover the losses and was forced into bankruptcy.

It’s interesting to me that all this came out after the midterms.

Something else I find interesting is SBF invested in at least one political/health related organization, circuitously through Democratic causes, “to help elect candidates who will be champions for pandemic prevention – candidates who, when elected, will have their eyes on the future of vaccines.”

SBF gave $27 million to Protect Our Future PAC.

“Our country’s leaders failed to prepare for a pandemic experts warned for years was possible, and the result was more than a million preventable American deaths, trillions of dollars in economic damage, school closures, loss of freedoms, and untold suffering. Washington still has not learned its lesson, and has responded to the Covid crisis by underinvesting in pandemic prevention and leaving our country susceptible to another catastrophe, one that might be even worse next time. Our candidates are committed to safeguarding our nation from future global pandemics, so this is the last time in our lifetime, and our children’s lifetimes, that we will face the devastation that has gripped communities across the US since 2020.

A number of key principles govern the work we do and the candidates we support:

  • We can and need to act now to prevent the next pandemic.
  • We need real federal funding for pandemic prevention.
  • We must establish independent oversight of dual-use research including enforcement mechanisms to ensure safety and security.
  • We understand that government action can have a positive impact on people’s lives.

We believe we can take steps now to protect our future.”  https://www.protectourfuture.us/

30 year-old Sam Bankman-Fried, once the CEO of a hugely lucrative enterprise, is now just another cautionary tale.  It will take a long time for the crypto world to recover.  Maybe some regulation is better than none at all.

Per George:  That said, psychopaths like Bankman-Fried will always find ways to engage in financial mischief.  Only by punishing him severely (like the DOJ did to Bernie Madoff) will there be any chance of heading such criminality off at the pass –at least for the most part.  In the meantime, this bozo should not be sent to some Club Fed prison but Supermax and he should have all his assets confiscated.

P.S. For years now, ever since the leak of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, Gail and I have been talking about the Ukraine being a huge money-laundering operation for the Democrat wing of the American Deep State.  This explains the stranglehold of the Neocon/MIC over the Democrat Party, formerly the “peace party” and the furious attempts by the Congress to throw incessant buckets of money to the Zelensky regime.   No surprise there, they are the Evil Party.

The question now is:  why did the Congressional GOP (for the most part) go along with this scam?  Were they also recipients of Bankman-Fried’s money-laundering operation as well?  Or were they merely honest dupes who sincerely believe all that crap about embracing every independence movement in the world, regardless of its legitimacy?

Regrettably, I most go with the latter.  Because after all, the it is the GOP which is the Stupid Party.

        1. satanists really do use black magic to go from strength to strength in a materialistic terms, by committing more and more heinous crimes.

        2. No crime truly is more heinous than killing God, for any reason, including the desire for a worldly kingdom

        3. The crime of killing God was definitely not only an individual thing, but also collective, Jewish and multi-generational

Then it follows that the Jews should be given the whole world to own, and it does look in real life like they have.

People may interpret their outrageously disproportionate representation in positions of power any way they want, but the above is how I interpret it.

        • Gail Sheppard says

Nobody killed God. Scripture tells us Christ gave up his spirit.

          • I don’t think it was as easy as that, Gail.
If he just ‘gave up his spirit’, he would not have drunk
            to the bitter full the cup that was prepared for him;
for the drinking of which he came.

            ‘Gave up his spirit’ is, I think, a metaphor;
            the meaning of which is that ‘he died’;
but his death was a result of torture and crucifixion.

And the evidence we have is that he drained the cup
            to its fullest, bitterest dregs.

Here is a summary of that evidence:
Historical Roman documents refer to the crucifixion of Jesus.
There is good evidence that Our Lord was nailed to the cross through his wrist bones, causing ulnar bilateral nerve palsies.
During crucifixion, congealed bloods shows that He alternated between standing with his legs and hanging from his arms.
Deep and prolific wounds occurred because of the torture prior to crucifixion.
He did not have sedatives or analgesia to ease his death
He died and “blood and water” attest that He was definitely dead, and completely dead.
St John set it out without any room for doubt telling us that “immediately there came out blood and water. This is the evidence of one who saw it — true evidence, and he knows that what he says is true — and he gives it so that you may believe as well.”
Medical evidence is that Our Lord was truly and completely dead.

Here, if you can bear to read it, is a fuller explanation:

            • Gail Sheppard says

I never said He didn’t die! If I said that I’d be denying the resurrection. Of course, He died for that is how He could undo death.

          • Exactly…. Christ was in charge of the entire process until the end. He could have called thousands of Angels to destroy those who crucified Him, but He did not, because He loves us so much and wanted to reunite us with God by destroying death. And allowing His own death was the only way to do that, to reunite man with God, to destroy death once and for all.

John 19:30…. “So when Jesus has received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” An bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

Christ decided when it was time to die. He was in charge of the entire process.

Orthodox Holy Week is so unbelievably rich…. it still amazes me to no end every year.

But yes, Christ did indeed die. He was dead. And yes, it was some of God’s own chosen people at the time who rejected him. Some of God’s chosen people obviously did not reject Him — all of the Apostles, “the Noble Joseph,” the myrrhbearing women, obviously Our Holy Mother — all of these people were highly observant Jews. Christ Himself was the most observant Jew who ever lived.

But not much has changed in terms of God’s people rejecting Him….. not to be judgy, but many Orthodox Christians these days seem to reject their own baptisms, or to want God on their own terms, whether that be the fake schismatics “created” by Constantinople, or the “gay baptisms” promoted by “Archbishop” Elpidophoros, etc. It’s all the same thing, wanting God on our own terms rather than approaching Him as He truly is.

          • Son of God died only in His human nature. God – the Source of life does not die.

            • Gail Sheppard says

He died the the flesh. No one can “kill God.”

            • Oh c’mon. Who ever said God was killed absolutely? Of course I was only referring to Him being killed in the flesh and yet that doesn’t change my original point.

Besides, this type of thinking, which is what Gail first introduced, is bordering on saying God wasn’t also fully man. It’s equivalent to correcting someone for saying that God slept, because especially before the incarnation and after the ascension, God ultimately doesn’t sleep at all.

              • Gail Sheppard says

I didn’t say that or suggest that.

              • “bordering on saying God wasn’t also fully man”

God is not man at all. God the Son and man united in hypostatic union, without mixing or confusion and without one nature subsuming another.

                • Let me add. I would say that the Resurrection was not a miracle but a natural event, since one of two natures was Divine.
“It took a body, and met God face to face. It took earth, and encountered Heaven. It took that which was seen, and fell upon the unseen.”

              • If, in ordinary English, “the crime of killing God”
does not mean “the crime of killing God dead”,
then “killing God” does not mean “killing God”.

The problem is that ordinary English (or Greek…etc) lacks
the precision required to express the mystery in simple terms.

As a result, we often misunderstand each other when we try
to express what we understand by this (or any other) mystery.

We (including me!) should always try to read with charity.
I did not grasp what Gail meant at first,
but I do now; and I am fine with it.

        • Yes, let’s leave the “killing God” talk aside. Christ voluntarily gave up His life “as a ransom for many”. St. Paul cautioned us to be patient with the Jews. The “Christ-Killer” epithet may be technically correct but is not helpful as a practical matter.

Born and raised to an upper-middle-class Jewish family in California, he is the son of Barbara Fried and Joseph Bankman, both professors at Stanford Law School. His aunt Linda P. Fried is the current dean of Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. His brother, Gabe Bankman-Fried, is a former Wall Street trader and the director of the non-profit Guarding Against Pandemics

Disgraced Former FTX CEO, Democrat Super Donor Sam Bankman-Fried and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky Scheduled to Appear at NY Times Event

Democrat super donor and disgraced former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried is set to appear as a speaker for a conference held by the New York Times with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Besides having to apply to the Times’ conference and pay a $2,499 fee to hear what the publication believes are “today’s most vital minds,” some speakers, including these two, have an apparent intertwined history.

As Breitbart News noted last week, Bankman-Fried recently had a softball interview with the publication and was also accused of mishandling FTX customer investments on a massive scale. Bankman-Fried’s cryptocurrency exchange reportedly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. after a week of scandals.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Bankman-Fried was the sixth-largest donor in this midterm election cycle after he invested about $40 million, mainly on Democrat candidates and causes, with the bulk of the money on primary elections instead of the general elections.

However, this all comes as Fox News and other media outlets have reported that Bankman-Fried’s company reportedly set up a website to help raise funds for Ukrainians during the ongoing attack from Russia, and some have claimed that the funds were subsequently sent to fund the Democrat campaigns Bankman-Fried donated to.

I’m leaning toward the opinion now that the system is so corrupt that participation is a bad idea, even if it means letting the Dems take it. They already have it. Until someone comes up with a viable plan to end the “mail in” cheating and fix the rigged machines, voting is an act in futility, except perhaps in state races in red states.

Trump will likely announce later today. I wish him well, but at this point it is not worth any emotional investment at all.

Poland, NATO Agree Deadly Polish Border ‘Russian Attack’ Was Errant Ukrainian Missile

A mere less than 24 hours ago, before the dust had settled from the explosion and before investigators could come to any definitive conclusions after the deadly incident on the Polish border village of Przewodów, the Western public was already being harangued and forewarned to stay away from ‘conspiracy theories’ as the early mainstream headlines – pushed especially based on an anonymous US official in an Associated Press report – were fast out the gate with “Russian missiles hit Poland, killing two”.

“Article 5” – the NATO collective defense treaty which many had long worried would be the first invoked act leading to WWIII, began trending on Twitter, as Western officials issued confident statements of ‘solidarity’. Almost immediately and without evidence, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded “action” from the West over the supposed brazen aggression against a NATO member. “Hitting NATO territory with missiles… This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a really significant escalation. Action is needed,” Zelensky said his Tuesday night video address.

And then as missile crash site images widely circulated on the internet, leading even Western sources to express doubt that the projectile was launched by Russia, enter no less than the foreign minister of Ukraine, who attempted to preempt what he slammed as a developing Russia-promoted “conspiracy theory”. Like with many other aspects to this war, some of the most obvious common sense questions were quickly declared “off limits” before they could even be asked.

The money quote (courtesy of Larry Johnson):

“The United States, by contrast, is exercising great caution.* Part of the reason for that hesitancy is the financial collapse of FTX, which is exposing evidence that the Democrats, some Republicans, the Ukrainians and FTX organized an elaborate financial kickback scheme. The scheme involved promising members of Congress who sent money to Ukraine a hefty contribution in turn from a Democrat benefactor. In this case, the owner of FTX. Once the U.S. dollars were credited to Ukraine’s account, President Zelensky and his partners diverted some of the proceeds to purchase crypto currency from FTX. FTX, in turn, sent some of that funds back to the cooperating members of Congress and the Democrat National Committee. This scheme is unraveling.”

Concerning the Poles and their natural anti-Russian sentiment, I was reading a prophecy from St Lawrence of Chernigov recently. His topic was on Russia but he also talked about the history of Polish antagonism against Russia, how “Ukraine” was founded and the source of the conflict centuries ago..

St. Lawrence spoke emphatically and strictly, with warning, that the word for our native land and people is Rus’ and Russian.8″And it’s absolutely necessary to know, remember, and not forget that it was the Baptism of Rus’ (Russia), and not the baptism of Ukraine. Kiev is a second Jerusalem and the mother of Russian cities. Kievan Rus’ was together with Great Russia.Kiev without Great Russia and separate from Russia is completely unthinkable.

“There was a secret Jewish capital in Poland.9The Jews forced the Poles to try to conquer Rus’. When the Poles conquered part of Rus’ (Russia),10 they rented it to the Jews, including Orthodox monasteries, churches and priests. The priests and Orthodox people could not perform any rite whatsoever without their permission. They pressed and oppressed the Orthodox [Christians] from every side, protecting Poland, Catholicism, and the Unia.11 It is not without reason that ‘Golden Gritz’12 of blessed memory—Fool-for-Christ Grigory—used to cry out at the bazaar when they would beat him: ‘Oh! The Jewish fists hurt!’

“The Jews hated the words ‘Rus’ and ‘Russian,’ so at first they called the Russian lands conquered by the Poles and rented out to them ‘Malorossia’ (Little Russia). Then they realized that it contained the word ‘Ros,’ and they named it Okraina13. The word okraina is a disgraceful and humiliating word! What ‘remote, outlying district’? What ‘outback’? Why and for what is it ‘okraina’?! You see, beyond this supposed Judeo-Polish ‘outskirts’ there lie other countries and states. And later, on their same orders, the Poles legitimatized the concepts of the Ukraine and Ukrainians to us, so that we would willingly forget our own name of ‘Russian’ forever, so that we would be torn away from Holy and Orthodox Rus’ forever.

8 St. Lavrenty [Lawrence] was from what is now called (the) Ukraine; therefore, the word “our” here refers in particular to people living there—the word for native land there is “Rus’” and “Russian,” not “Ukrainian.” –Trans.

9 The King of Poland invited Jews to his country, finding it profitable, whereas in the Middle Ages or later many European countries had expelled their Jewish population, much of which then moved to Poland, where they were welcome. Thus, there was a high concentration of Jews in Poland, and they were indeed allowed to have great control and influence there. The word “secret” may have been used because they were still segregated from the Christian population in many ways, voluntarily or involuntarily. —Trans. [see my link to Wikipedia below]

10 Poland—Kingdom of Poland/the Polish-Lituanian Commonwealth—annexed Kievan Rus’, subjecting Russian peasants, especially, to the arenda system. (See note 16 under arenda. [sic – it is note 14])

11 The Union of Brest (1595-1596), wherein many Orthodox bishops in Little Russia succumbed to Jesuit pressure and went over to the Pope of Rome.

12 Grigory Miroshnikov of Sednev, Chernigov, Fool-for-Christ. He lived at the beginning of the 19th century.

13 “Okraina” means “outskirts,” “outlying districts,” “remote area.”

14Leasing—arenda. System in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (which had annexed Kievan Russia), whereby a few oligarchs owned vast estates and even peasant villages. The landowners were unwilling to spend the time necessary to administer such vast holdings, so the commonly-accepted solution was to rent out one’s lands (hence, arenda) to Jews, who managed the lands and collected taxes for the owners. This was the same as the ancient Roman tax-collection method of Biblical times, whereby the tax collectors were not actually paid by the Romans, but who were allowed to exact more—sometimes much more—than the sum for taxes in order to “pay” themselves. The Jewish middlemen even collected taxes from Orthodox Christian clergy, often held the keys to the church, and not a single treba (service of need, such as a wedding or baptism) could be performed without paying them. Russian Christian attitudes towards them were therefore similar to Jewish attitudes towards the tax-collectors (publicans) for Rome in the Bible accounts.
