This reminds me of the last recession. Neither my husband and I could get work and both our bank accounts went to zero. I called my family around me and I showed them our bank statements. My daughter, who was around 11 or 12, started to cry. My husband and son just looked on stoically.

With the happiest face I could muster I said, “Now, wait until you see what God can do!”

I was taking a big risk. I was taking God at His word and praying furiously that He wouldn’t let me down for I knew this lesson would stay with my family forever.

The next week both my husband and I got jobs.

What we have here is a God problem. He’s going to have to solve this and it will be good.

I had been laid off 4 times is a year. My family was 2000 miles away. My friends were in the same situation as I. I sat down one afternoon and asked to help out. I made a plan. Plan b and plan c. I ended up with plan b and did that for two years. It was the right move. I went back home and found a job in 3 days

      You noticed that, too.

      • George Michalopulos says

I agree, Gail. It’s in the Lord’s hands at this point. We all have done what we can do. That doesn’t mean we can’t do more. We need to be faithful and vigilant to the end.

  3. Well, if you ever wanted evidence that autism was not caused by vaccines, this might be it.

    • “Well, if you ever wanted evidence that autism was not caused by vaccines, this might be it.”

Well, we usually never hear an alternative theory, much less evidence for that theory, from the vaccine/autism link deniers, beyond society just never noticed all these challenged people before (seems like 1/3 children these days).

      • I hear you. My post was a multi-layered joke. I’m not entirely convinced that vaccines are exclusively to blame for the rise in autism (other environmental factors like plastics, birth control, etc. being contenders too) but I think people like James Perloff – an Orthodox Christian “conspiracy theorist” – make a good case for their heavy contribution.

In case you were wondering, my joke was that the map itself is 100% autistic in the contemporary use of the term, while the producer is almost certainly an anti-vaxxer. Get it?

Regarding the map itself, it’s a smorgasbord of legitimate theories mixed in with Q-tard disinfo and new age stuff like ‘lightworkers’ and ‘starseeds,’ indicating to me that it’s probably going to lead people astray. Oh yeah, and reptilians.

    • George Michalopulos says

I’d like for some Congressman to read Biden’s latest speech regarding the Tuskegee Airmen into the Congressional record, word-for-word.

The guy is absolutely demented. Now, the prob for the Dems is who they’re going to get rid of first, him or Kamasutra? Jill and her minions have been poisoning the well against her behind the scenes but a few more speeches like this last one, and it’s Katy bar the door!

  5. Seraphim says

A lot of this was hard to follow for me. But in any case I do have a couple questions.

    1. Does the author really think those behind all the covid crap are going to be held accountable? Doesn’t seem too likely to me.

    2. Does he really think the jab is the real “mark of the beast”? Do you guys think that?

    • Gail Sheppard says

When you get the vaccine, you are assigned a number in a database.

      I. The number includes the product. Pfizer could be 01, for example, Moderna 02, AstraZeneca 03, etc.

II. The date you received the vaccine. Could look something like this: 20201901 for Sept 1, 2020.

III. A similar number for your date of birth and a number for the location you received it.

My number could look something like this if I were vaccinated: SHEPPARDG01123123456A20210215195307092500 (SHEPPARDG 01(Pfizer)123(Manufacturer)123456A(lot#)20210215(Inject DT)20000321(DOB)2500.)

Instead, my number probably looks like this: SHEPPARDG00000000000000000000XXXXXXXX0000

I could see them using it as a way of identifying you going forward and insisting everyone has a number.

We do this now with IDs and Drivers License cards. In school, I had a matriculation number that stayed with me until I graduated to allow me to eat in the cafeteria. I had a similar number on a laminated card to get into the parking lot on my college campus. I’ve had cards (still do) that indicate my insurance carriers. My children had unique numbers around their ankles in the nursery when they were born. Most of us have social security card with a number.

This COVID vaccination card, however, is being discussed as a permanent number for everything. They’re already using the number to determine your vaccination status which impacts your ability to book flights to certain countries and get into bars and restaurants that cater only to the vaccinated because the vaccinated are afraid of the unvaccinated, which begs the question why they got vaccinated in the first place.

So you tell me. Could this be the beginning of the mark of the beast? The first part is done. All that’s left is invisibly tattooing it under your skin or pulling it from your brain.

We know magnetized mRNA nono particles travel from the injection site to your organs, including the brain which explains why a disproportionate number of brain injuries are associated with the jabs: blood clots, strokes, tinnitus, vertigo, smell/taste abnormalities, phantom pain in the extremities, etc.

With regard to being held accountable, I definitely think that will happen. In this life or the next. (Mircrosoft patent with the number of the beast.)

      Revelation 13
      King James Version

13 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast [Satan Worshipers????] and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven [Anti-Christian Movement????].

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles [Technology????] which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword [Icons of St. George????], and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads [Invisabily, possibly, to be read by a bar code machine????]:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

      • Seraphim says

I don’t doubt this is setting us up for the mark in the near future. What I’m asking is does the author believe the jab itself IS the mark? And do you, my fellow commenters, think it is? I ask, especially cause we all know MANY Orthodox Christians have gotten it, including archbishops and patriarchs and priests.

    • Seraphim,

A precursor, perhaps – a trial run, if you will; but no, I honestly don’t think so. At least not in this case. We are so accustomed to technology that we easily forget that there are still significant parts of the world where technology has yet to become all-pervasive.. Places like parts of Africa, etc., places who are derided as “undeveloped” or “backward.” In other words, places where people are still human.

  6. “In collaboration with The Ashtar World Evacuation Project”

I suppose a deus ex machina of aliens showing up is as good as any. I hope the stargates do reopen, I have some dry cleaning I haven’t been able to pick up since 5000 B.C.

    • Mark E. Fisus says

Ooo, another layer of meaning to “THANK OUR HEROS.” Could the aliens be our real heroes?

Wait, they misspelled heroes. Credibility lost. Too bad, I was with them up to that point.

  7. Could someone explain in simple terms this map and what it means?

I have not gotten any covid vaccine and don’t intend to (unless possibly Russia’s Sputnik vaccine becomes available in the United States, which ain’t happening anytime soon I don’t think…. But after reading some, Russia’s Sputnik vaccine seems far more trustworthy than the American ones).

I’ve known many people who’ve gotten sick from covid and some who’ve died. I’m fairly certain covid went though our household this time last summer.

I’m a loner in my family with respect to not yet having gotten the vaccine. I’m reluctant because:

    (1) the vaccine manufacturers are profiting considerably from the vaccine yet are indemnified legally against any lawsuits with respect to the vaccine. Why? How is this legal exemption good for society? Makes no sense.

    (2) The refusal or inability of anyone in government to explain why this vaccine is necessary for the healthy person who’s less than 65 years old. Sorry the “OMG OMG OMG EVERYONE’S GONNA DIE AND IF YOU DON’T GET THE VACCINE YOU’RE A BAD PERSON AND ARE GONNA KILL GRANNY” schtick doesn’t work with me. Plus, it’s not true.

I’ve already received lots of vaccines. For none of them did anyone give a hoot about or shame those who didn’t get vaccinated. If one believes the vaccines work, why the constant stress over whether others get it? When I got the smallpox vaccine prior to going to Iraq, none of us stressed over how many were not vaccinated against smallpox, which is far deadlier than covid.

    (3) The fact that instead of engaging and discussing reasonable questions with respect to covid and the vaccine, the powers that be instead resort to shaming and silencing those they disagree with. Again, huge red flag. I seriously think that most of our current powers that be are simply too stupid to be able to discuss things thoughtfully, anyway.

    (4) I simply think that those who run our government are atheistic morons. Yes I’m sure there are some good people in there. But it’s like the loud annoying high school clique – those are the people who now control our policy and government. I don’t trust them.

But like a moronic high school clique, they don’t understand why people don’t trust them and don’t care to learn.

    (5) I’ve worked around sick covid patients for more than a year now. Our hospital systems here – to their credit – do not require a covid vaccine for healthcare workers, regardless of whether one works around covid pts or not.

    (6) Through my prayerful consideration I have not yet gotten the idea that I would benefit from or should get the vaccine.

    (7) Data suggests that after having had covid infection (regardless of severity), the vaccine doesn’t add any additional protection over natural immunity. So why get it? But those in power refuse to answer this question. They simply resort to shaming and deplatforming. Huge red flags.

Again, however, can someone explain the covid 5G map? I don’t get it.

    • Gail Sheppard says

This is a mind map. If you were to ask me a question that was too long to explain, I might use a mind map to communicate my ideas without writing a narrative.

George and I didn’t post it because we think it’s true. We posted it because it’s interesting.

    • As Gail says, it is a Mind Map.

It does not depict a logical, left-brain argument
going from thesis, through antithesis, to synthesis.

It is intended to be an image, an icon, of Man’s collective scientific (or, rather, science-fiction) understanding of the ‘Great Reset’ in relation to how we got here and where we might be going.

It tries to be inclusive of everything and everyone (Covid, 5G, Economics, Politics, Bill Gates, Rockefeller, RFK etc – no Mercola though) that people are thinking about in relation to the existential crisis currently facing Mankind.

For me, however, it ultimately fails because it does not include Christ.

  8. Covid vaccine does not quite fit the bill for the Mark of the Beast, though they seem to be trying to taunt us in this way. Making it a condition of participation in various activities in society is a means of exerting control. However, there is no visible mark on the head or hand which enables the person to engage in commerce. That is the actual function. Could be a bar code type thing or a chip implanted on the forehead or hand which could be scanned in a social credit system. That’s what we are actually looking for, I believe, when it comes.

Yet this is bad enough. Fake pandemic launched as a trial run by the CCP to test its delivery system for viral warfare ends up shutting down the West and rendering everyone paranoid, wearing masks and locked down for no apparent reason. Then, force feeding the vaccine to all, even those who’ve had the virus and thus developed immunity, despite the fact that it is untested and has resulted in widespread severe side effects. Even forcing it on children.

It’s a baseless rehearsal for totalitarianism. They’re seeking the extent to which they can get away with this type of Orwellian control. This is yet another reason why the MSDNCCP must be destroyed, not one stone left upon another.

    • “However, there is no visible mark on the head or hand which enables the person to engage in commerce. That is the actual function. Could be a bar code type thing or a chip implanted on the forehead or hand which could be scanned in a social credit system. That’s what we are actually looking for, I believe, when it comes.”

Some places already have vaccine passports, which people are already faking and threatened by for example, the FBI, so the logical next step is implanting/imprinting it to the body, which they’ve been developing for years.

Invisible Ink Could Reveal whether Kids Have Been Vaccinated ( December 18, 2019):

“The research, conducted by M.I.T. bioengineers Robert Langer and Ana Jaklenec and their colleagues, uses a patch of tiny needles called microneedles to provide an effective vaccination without a teeth-clenching jab. Microneedles are embedded in a Band-Aid-like device that is placed on the skin; a skilled nurse or technician is not required. Vaccines delivered with microneedles also may not need to be refrigerated, reducing both the cost and difficulty of delivery, Langer and Jaklenec say.”

“The work was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and came about because of a direct request from Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates himself…”

  9. My question is what on earth is the thing in the center of this map – “COVID 5G A NOVEL BIO AI WEAPON”? Does covid improve 5G reception?

Reminds me of the 5G Covid Chip diagram which turned out to be a guitar pedal.

    • Gail Sheppard says

      Explanation from the map makers:

“. . . the COVID-19 bioweapon that was released in Wuhan, China is different than those launched in Milan, Tehran and New York City. What each of these major metro areas had in common was an intensive roll-out of 5G in 2019. This is why the coronavirus clusters in each of those 4 cities exploded with such a spontaneous mushrooming of Covid outbreaks literally overnight; they were triggered by the extremely powerful 5G energy grid. (The 5G EMF signal ranges and microwave transmissions that were activated have never been experienced by humanity.”

      • They also have really bad air quality, which greatly enhances respiratory ailments. India and China are really bad as well.

Sorry but I don’t buy the 5G and COVID, the physucs don’t work. Now the vaccine? Maybe, but the magnetic particles would function as an antennae structure. The nano magnetic particles themselves are way too small for 5G wavelengths on the order of 10mm (Verizon). Now if they are distributed in the body they will for an antennae structure that could resonate. Will it be mind control? Maybe. If modulations on top of the 5G carrier wave mimic certain types of brainwaves then possibly but there are a lot of iffs.

        • Gail Sheppard says

I’ve heard they have had more cases of COVID in areas that have 5G up and running. (Don’t quote me on this. I haven’t researched it.) This might explain why.

    • It must also be pointed out that the vaccine given in Russia (the “Sputnik” vaccine) is a more traditional vaccine and is not the mRNA gene therapy “vaccine” that’s given in the West. This is the vaccine that Met. Hilarion is referencing. It’s much more similar to the annual flu shot, which I have no problems getting every year.

I’d get the Sputnik vaccine if it were available in the USA. But it’s not and won’t be, because in America, Russia bad and Biden/Harris good.

      • Seraphim says

I know nothing about the Russian vaccine and therefore can’t confirm or refute what you say about it. But the point remains the same: no one should be forced or guilted into taking something into their body against their will. We should be able to do our own research and make these choices uncoerced. Metro. Hilarion is not a medical professional. He’s a bishop, charged with the spiritual lives of his flock, not something like this. I will feel no guilt whatsoever for refusing any vaccine if a bishop pulls this on me

        • George Michalopulos says

          Nor will I.

          • Christine Fevronia says

Me neither! At my work, I’ve been offered a religious waiver for when the vaccine is approved by the FDA, as at that time it will become mandatory for employees where I work to receive it. The waiver reads: “Due to strongly held personal and/or religious convictions, I am unable to receive vaccination…” and so on for another paragraph. I simply have to sign it and submit to HR. I very much appreciated the word choice of “unable” instead of “unwilling”. I wish Orthodox leadership would have the chutzpah to say “We are UNABLE to be injected with substances in which aborted babies (aborted live via cesarean and tested on live and had their tissues and organs taken from them while they were alive and in agony) have been used as research and testing, into our bodies. End of discussion.”

            • Gail Sheppard says

I’m sure many of us have sent a prayer on your behalf and are very gratified to hear this. You shouldn’t have had to go through this, Christine. I’m so grateful it worked out for you.

              • Christine Fevronia says

Thank you, Gail! It’s been quite a challenging time, but the work you and George do on this blog has truly been a Godsend. I don’t thank you enough for all your time and research and writing. You are a powerhouse couple, and I’m grateful for your labors!

      • Archpriest Alexander F. C. Webster says

        Caution, FTS!

The Sputnik V vaccine in Russia is a “viral vector-based vaccine” that utilized the HEK293 aborted baby cell line in its design & development and lab tests.

    • Metropolitan Hilarion is (I think) misinformed.
God gave him an immune system.
      Doesn’t he trust it?

    • I think the Sputnik vaccine works differently than the mRNA. According to the website:

      Sputnik V Vaccine Description

The Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V (Gam-COVID-Vac) is an adenoviral-based, two-part vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Initially produced in Russia, Sputnik V uses a weakened virus to deliver small parts of a pathogen and stimulate an immune response.

It would be interesting to hear other opinions on this.

    • Seraphim says

That is sickening. I’ve become really disappointed in Metropolitan Hilarion. As far as I’m concerned, it is sinful to use his position of influence to guilt people into taking an injection that has so many questionable aspects to it. I will take my chances with the “sin” of not taking the jab.

      • “It is sinful to use his position of influence to guilt people into taking an injection that has so many questionable aspects to it.”

Yes, absolutely. Hopefully Met. Hilarion (Alfeyev) will realize this point soon.

In the meantime, there’s no reason to expect him to be perfect. Even as a hierarch of the Church, it’s an impossible task to demand a hierarch to “never be wrong.” He’s obviously not a canonized saint – even canonized Saints were never perfect people.

Met. Hilarion has done and said a lot of good things. This “edict” of his about the covid vaccine isn’t one of them. We can take what’s good of what he says and leave the rest.

        • Seraphim says

Of course, I’m not saying everything he’s done is bad, nor do I expect perfection. We all mess up, you’re right. But please allow me to make 3 points:

          1. While no one is perfect, as a bishop he is, and should be held to a higher standard. This is why St. Paul advised that not many should become teachers. And I have yet to see any of our hierarchs backtrack and admit they were wrong to close churches, require masks, etc.

          2. He sure seems to be demanding a lot of his flock and not allowing for imperfection in them. Like I said before, decisions about putting a foreign substance into our bodies should not be made lightly. And if they don’t hop to and get the jab, they are supposed to atone for it like it’s some grave sin?

          3. Metr. Hilarion may have done many good things, but it’s not how we begin that is truly important, but how we end. “He who endures to the end will be saved.” It’s good to lead well in times of peace, but the real test of a leader is how he leads when the going gets tough.

      • Perhaps Metropolitan Hilarion should read this:

‘Serious violations and manipulations of trial protocol’:
How Pfizer obtained FDA emergency authorization for children

‘ Analysis and comparison of the review document submitted by Pfizer to the US Food and Drug Administration, on the basis of which the FDA gave the green light to expand the emergency permit for vaccination also for children aged 12-15 (1), as opposed to the study protocol in children (2, 3), reveal concerning findings, including violations of the protocol established by Pfizer itself, and no less serious, designing the trial protocol in a way that will allow the company to present as positive findings as possible in terms of vaccine safety in children. …

Violation of protocol conditions – How did children with a
psychiatric diagnosis get to be included in the study?

According to the review document submitted by Pfizer to the FDA, four of the 1,131 children in the study arm who received Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine suffered from serious adverse events (“SAEs”) – that is, events in which at least one criterion was met: caused death, is life-threatening, requires hospitalization or prolongation of existing hospitalization, results in persistent disability/incapacity, or congenital anomaly/birth defect.

Of these four children, three had such severe depression that they were hospitalized shortly after vaccination (in the first 7 days after the first dose, in the second only one day after the second dose, and in the third 15 days after the first dose, respectively). …

The consequence of this finding is extremely worrying, as it means that one in every 350-400 children who are vaccinated might suffer from severe depression and need hospitalization.

To reassure us, Pfizer notes in its review document that in fact, all three children had a pre-existing diagnosis of anxiety and depression. Moreover, they explain – all three actually reported a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that began within 1-2 months prior to vaccination. …

“Worsening suicidal ideas with initial SSRI treatment in adolescents”, they explain, “is a recognized risk and provides a reasonable alternative explanation for depression exacerbation in these BNT162b2 recipients”.

So here you go – why blame the vaccine, when there is a perfectly reasonable and logical alternative explanation for the exacerbation of their depression?
What is the problem with this explanation?

        Two problems:

The claim that the SSRIs the children received is an alternative explanation for the deterioration of the children’s mental state is doubtful. According to the scientific literature, exacerbation of suicide and mental state occurs right at the beginning of treatment with antidepressants, usually in the first two weeks, and certainly not more than a month after starting treatment – which is the time when you start to see improvement. In fact, the opposite is true: if there is no improvement within four weeks, a medication is usually replaced.
More importantly, according to the study protocol – participants with a previous psychiatric diagnosis should never have been included in the study in the first place (see page 41 in the protocol).
It turns out that one of the exclusion criteria in the study is: “Other medical or psychiatric condition including recent (within the past year) or active suicidal ideation/behavior or laboratory abnormality that may increase the risk of study participation or, in the investigator’s judgment, make the participant inappropriate for the study“. …

This is therefore a blatant violation of the study protocol established by the company itself and approved by the FDA. The implication of such a violation is severe: if Pfizer were so negligent that they included subjects with a psychiatric background in the experiment – contrary to the protocol they themselves established – it means that the subjects’ well-being is not their main concern. …

In the Pediatric Study Protocol (see table on page 12), Pfizer undertook that the duration of follow-up for serious adverse events (SAEs) would be “from Dose 1 to 6 months after the second dose”. …

Yet it turns out from Pfizer’s review document that the company did not complete even this relatively short follow-up period, and in fact was content with only 30 days of follow-up of the severe adverse events. …

The concerning implication of this practice is that serious adverse events may not appear in the report on the basis of which the FDA issues the emergency authorization for children, so continued follow-up, even if published a few months or years after the temporary authorization was issued, will not help children who will be harmed or die following the FDA’s green light.

Within the terms of the Outcome Measures in the study protocol, as it is presented in Pfizer determined that the research team selected by Pfizer will be the ones defining the adverse events as such: “As elicited by investigative site staff”.

This way, the company has in effect given researchers selected by them the power to define for themselves what the diagnosis will be, regardless of the diagnosis given at the hospital/ward which is not defined as the research site. …

Beyond the severe criticism towards Pfizer, the analysis
and comparison raise serious questions for the FDA itself:

How is it possible that the FDA has even approved a protocol that allows such manipulations?
Why did the FDA allow the company to perform the data analysis and submit the application for the emergency permit in children after such a short follow-up time of only 30 days?
What made the FDA so eager to approve the emergency permit for children? Why is this approval given based on a safety report that is not even “cooked” half way? After all, there is no emergency situation for children.
Why did the FDA not address these manipulations and violations of the protocol after the company submitted its review? ‘

Perhaps if Metropolitan Hilarion read the full article at the link above,
he might not be so trusting of the serially criminal drug companies.

        • Archpriest Alexander F. C. Webster says

Meanwhile our children as young as three years of age will be slated for a new phase of the absurdity of mandatory mask-wearing if the various authorities heed this “guidance” from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP):

For anyone unfamiliar with the nefarious AAP, here is a link to my article on the AAP and the similarly named but morally sound American College of Pediatricians titled, “Do You Your Child’s Doctor: The Politicization of Pediatrics in America,” published in the January / February 2020 issue of Touchstone Magazine :

          • Father,

Curtis Yarvin outlines very well how our national bureaucracies’ COVID responses parallel our former Afghanistan policy — no one knows what the desired end-state is, no one knows whether the efforts we are making are working, no one is evaluating data or looking at metrics of success. And those metrics/data that we do have are ignored.

Anymore, just like commanders and units went in and out of Afghanistan for years without any clear data that what we were doing was effective (and much of the data actively suppressed/ignored), our national COVID responses are the same. We just do it because we do it. No more questions, please.

To millions of people, we simply “mask” and “social distance” for COVID because it’s what we do. To question it is to be a dissident (dissident = someone who disagrees with the policy or worldview of those in charge), or even to question it is to be “a bad American.”

This is not going to change, because we do not have any mechanisms built into American governance to effect this change. The only systems that can make effective policy are those where people are held accountable for failures (i.e., in systems where there is a clear leader who can be canned for failure). To date, absolutely no one has been held accountable for failures in our COVID responses, just as no one has been held accountable for failures in Afghanistan.

By design, our ponderous gov’t bureaucracies do not have clear leaders who can be held accountable. Plus, there are so many conflicts of interest. For example, virologists running virology policy? It’s like letting the fox guard the henhouse. Of course virologists are going to be all in favor of gain-of-function research — it’s what they do, it’s how they make names for themselves!

Letting virologists run the investigation of how SARS-CoV-2 escaped the lab in Wuhan (which is likely what happened) is like letting the Soviet nuclear authority investigate what happened at Chernobyl. Yet that’s what we are doing. How much honestly/transparency have we seen from these virologist investigators? None, but what would we expect? The fox won’t easily let go of the joys of guarding the henhouse…

The only way these things change is by a strong, charismatic leader who can harness the power of our government in ways that work. Trump was a jump-start to that, but he was too headstrong and impetuous to be effective and did not know how to harness the power of the massive American bureaucracy. Maybe DeSantis?

          • Christine Fevronia says

And the CDC is refusing to count folks who’ve gotten the vax who then get covid after the vax, unless they die! It’s all absurd. I happen to know of at least ten people in my close circle of friends who got the vaccine then have subsequently become I’ll and tested positive for covid. The CDC decided in May to NOT COUNT these folks in their covid numbers, unless they die. Such a shell game, and as you said, the height of absurdity!

“The health oversight agency added that it would only be counting COVID-19 cases and infections after vaccination that resulted in patients being hospitalized or dying from May 1 onward – discounting almost 90% of cases of vaccine failure.

The policy leaves a gaping hole in data collection on vaccine effectiveness. What’s more, since only 27% of the reported cases were asymptomatic, it also leaves a bulk of vaccinated people who are symptomatic – more than 60% of reported cases are actually ill with COVID symptoms – who are perhaps unwittingly spreading the disease because they do not suspect themselves of having a COVID infection because they have received their shots. But the CDC is no longer counting them.” LifeSite News

    • The MP is still very rough around the edges. The ROCOR did not insist upon perfection before the reconciliation or there would have been none. Both Met. HiIarion and Pat. Kirill have said and done some painfully stupid things over the past decade. It is unfortunate that the Church of Russia is reacting in this way.

And it wouldn’t be fair to crucify them when at least two of our bishops made it known they felt the same way. I suspect others did, too, but weren’t as vocal.

        • Seraphim says

I don’t think anyone of goodwill wants them “crucified.” And I’ve been critical of most bishops these days. I don’t give any of them a pass. We’re in the endgame here. These are the last days, when the enemies of God and His Church are surrounding us, and our own leaders have thrown us to the wolves.

          • Gail Sheppard says

Poor choice of words on my part. I should have said it would be unfair to call out one when he was but one of many.

            • Seraphim says

I get it. Look, I’m ready to forgive and let it all go. The hard part is it’s continuing. There has been no repentance, not even an acknowledge ment that they were misguided or acted rashly or harshly. That’s what’s making it hard to forgive.

I am far from perfect. I don’t keep the Tradition that was passed down to me anywhere near like I should. But the Tradition itself is not broken, I am. I questioned so many times over the last year whether I was wrong, aif there was something I wasn’t seeing. But ultimately I didn’t change, the Church did, or at least much of It. And now it’s not getting any better. Much of our clergy messed up, and now act as if things can/will just go back to normal, with no accountability. And now we see escalation with Valaam’s abbot attempting to mandate the jab and Metropolitan Hilarion’s statement. Things are NOT getting better. This is simply the calm before the next storm front comes through.

Right now, if I were talking to someone interested in Orthodoxy I would hardly know what to tell them.

              • Gail Sheppard says

Yeah, me too. It’s hard to know what to say. I was talking to someone just the other day about the Church and how it’s important to separate the Church from the people in the Church.

              • Katherine says

                Dear Seraphim,
I feel exactly the same way that you do, I just couldn’t find the words to express it as well as you did in your post of July 7 at 12:11 p.m. Thank you.

        • Gail,

Oh, I’m all for unloading on them. Otherwise they will never learn. They know better. Such paranoia is very unRussian. Pat. Kirill had to have bishops refuse to commemorate him in order to get him to back away from his joint statement with the Pope several years ago. They don’t understand mild scolding, you have to roll up a newspaper and swat them.

  10. While I will not comment on the map specifically, it still amazes me how so many people have simply gone along with all this from the beginning. Nothing legitimate is accompanied by the abuse of power and control. With this so called pandemic, we have seen nothing but abuse of power, control, and the greatest transfer of wealth in history.
What is even more disturbing to me, is how many Orthodox have and continue to go along with all of it.
I saw recently in an article that the Abbot of Valaam Monastery has mandated that all monks be injected if they are to stay at the Monastery. According to the article, the majority of monks were on board with this.
If accurate, this deeply saddens me, as I found much inspiration from Valaam in my journey to Orthodoxy years ago.
The acceptance of innovations, renovations and obedience to fear is not what our faith is founded upon.
We had a golden opportunity from the start to allow the True Church, the fortress upon a hill, to be the brightest of lights shining through the darkness that fell on the world last year.
Sadly, we missed the mark on that one.
May God forgive and have mercy on us.
Soldiers in Christ! Brothers and Sisters in Christ! With the intersession of the Saints and Martyrs, may we continue upon this narrow path and continue to fight the good fight!
    Glory be to God!

    • Gail Sheppard says

      Great comment!

    • Yes, agree most definitely.

On Valaam, I read recently that monastics who do not want the covid vaccine will not be required to leave the Valaam monastery. Thank God.

    • Mark E. Fisus says

Violence, even against advocates of sin, is counterproductive — it just turns the sinners into martyrs.

We must persuade with the power of superior ideas.

Remember St. Mark of Ephesus didn’t need to threaten mob violence to save Orthodoxy. He was just one man with a voice.

      • Gail Sheppard says

I like that phrase, MEF: “We must persuade with the power of superior ideas.” Now, if they would only listen. . .

        • Exactly. They don’t – and won’t – listen. Do we just stand back and allow them to spread their soul-destroying garbage? Bear in mind that the eternal salvation of the little ones is at stake. These people deserve millstones around their necks, so a little roughing up isn’t anywhere near that.

          • Gail Sheppard says

Because they have done this in ignorance I pray God has mercy on them.

That doesn’t mean they are innocent.

Their arrogance in thinking they knew better, believing we were just stirring the water, yet again, with our “facts”, was a tragedy that brought much pain and suffering to the Church.

Now that they are beginning to see the truth about the virus, the vaccine . . . I wonder if they learned anything.

Had they just prayed, God would have given them the answer, shown them the way. . . But they put their faith in academics, the princes of men. They ignored our pleas to look more closely, at THE SCIENCE, as they are fond of saying. But they didn’t do that. They listened to the media. The lying, untrustworthy media and a select group of physicians who were also fooled.

They accused us, the “truth-tellers”, of being murderers.

They abandoned the traditions of our Church.

It’s a lot to get over.

  12. George Michalopulos says

God bless Eric Clapton for not buying in to the propaganda:

  13. To those who are as of yet unpersuaded by my theory that the CCP released the Kungflu as a test of its transmissibility component rather than its mortality, it turns out that Covid is not the only bioweapon that they are developing but are attempting to streamline them to target particular races:

I know some people are skeptical of the notorious MTG, however this comes from a Chinese defector, Dr. Li Meng Yan. Given that the Chinese are known to be quite devoutly racist in their mentality, this should not be characterized as disinformatsiya.

Somebody needs to convince Xi and the CCP that Orthodox Christianity is a more efficient tool for herding their people than communism and that they should have a St. Vladimir moment, finding a commonality between Taoist mysticism, Confucian hierarchy and Buddhist spiritual warfare against the passions on the one hand and the Orthodox Faith on the other. It could be sold as the fulfillment of Chinese-ness.

That would defuse the current ideological conflict, land them on the “right side of history” and make the world a safer place. One need dream a thing before it has the possibility of manifestation in reality.
