On March 16,2020, just 6 weeks post COVID when we were coming to terms with the reality that life as we knew it was over, our own Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, Director of NIAID and presidential advisor to many, entered Phase I of testing the Gates’ mRNA vaccine (specifically, mRNA-1273) at various NIAID-funded clinical research sites. https://www.niaid.nih.gov/sites/default/files/NIAID-COVID-19-Strategic-Plan-2020.pdf
I call it the “Gates vaccine” because in 2015 the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation invested $53 million in the German company, CureVac, which specializes in the development of these vaccines.
Later, the Gates Foundation gave Moderna (who in collaboration with the NIH is currently testing the COVID vaccine), a $20-million grant to advance the development of an affordable mRNA-based cocktail of antibody therapeutics to help prevent human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection (March 2016). It is rumored that Moderna may have received another $80 million in subsequent grants. – It didn’t work.
So how does an RNA vaccine differ from most vaccines? Currently, molecules from the pathogen (antigens) are introduced into the body to trigger an immune response. In RNA-based vaccines, no antigen is introduced; only the genetic code that produces the antigens through the machinery of the cells. Specifically, “Messenger RNA (mRNA) copies portions of genetic code, a process called transcription, and transports these copies to ribosomes, which are the cellular factories that facilitate the production of proteins from this code.”
If the term “genetic code” sounds a little science fictiony, it is because it is.
This has never been done before but that didn’t deter Gates and the NIH from injecting humans with this new gene-based vaccine when the rest of us were still reeling from the knowledge of the virus. There are so many “what ifs,” I can’t begin to count them all.
Like what if mRNA tricks the body into producing too much of the viral proteins? Can that make you sick? What if the RNA disrupts the cell’s natural DNA sequence in some people? Can this happen? What if the vaccine is tainted with some other pathogen in the manufacturing process? Does that get communicated to the cells? What if our cells produce too much or too little of the antigen? What are the risks down the road? Would an accident affect future generations? – I am not a biologist but I think we need to know what the risks are before they inject us with something that alters our genetic code.
We are now hearing that the vaccine will be required for travel, going to school, and doing other mundane things that involve being around people. Why? If it works the way they say it does, then anyone who is vaccinated would be protected from getting COVID, right? Why would they need to give us multiple vaccines if one of them forever alters our genetic code? – Who knows? But that’s the point. We don’t know. Neither do they. We’re just supposed to trust them.
Unfortunately, Gates is no stranger to the risks of vaccines and has a history of ignoring them. He is perhaps best known (forget Microsoft) for his attempt to eradicate polio through the World Health Organization who is now seeing serious outbreaks of vaccine-induced polio in 20 countries due the use of the oral polio vaccine (OPV) that the Russian Federation warned produced vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis back in 1998. Until recently, the concerns were ignored. As a result, the world went from 22 cases of reported wild polio in 2 countries in 2017, to 102 wild cases (non-vaccine related) and 256 vaccine-induced cases since January. I wish I could say this was Gates’ only brush with a negative outcome but this might be inaccurate. I recently read James Perloff’s book entitled COVID-19 And The Agendas To Come Red-Pilled where Perloff talked about the following claims (we highly suggest you get a copy):
- Gates took control of India’s National Advisory Board and mandated a whopping 50 OPVs per child before age 5. (Contrast this with the 4, inactivated polio vaccines our kids receive by age 6, which frankly is bad enough.) Again, there was an outbreak of vaccine-induced polio from the vaccine that resulted in the paralysis of 496,000 children. India purportedly evicted him.
- A trial funded by the Gates Foundation in Africa of a GSK’s experimental malaria vaccine killed 151 African infants and inflicted 1,048-5,049 more with paralysis, seizures, and convulsions.
- A Catholic Doctors Association in Kenya accused the WHO of unwittingly sterilizing millions of Kenya women through a tetanus vaccine funded by Gates to the tune of $10B. Independent labs found the sterilizing agent in every vaccine so it appears to have been deliberate.
Gates is rumored to be very big on population control but draw your own conclusions when you read the followed: “The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 to 15 percent.” Bill Gates (Ted Talk 2010)

Why would one pump money into a vaccine years before an outbreak, not knowing if an outbreak would even occur? In case you didn’t catch it, see Tucker Carlson’s interview with a Chinese virologist who says COVID-19 was not only intentionally created and released from the Wuhan Lab, but the scientific community remained silent about it. We certainly didn’t hear about it from Fauci, our friendly COVID advisor, who was making recommendations right and left, perhaps knowing he was complicit in the research that led to the outbreak, hurriedly trying to capitalize on it through the creation of the Moderna vaccine for his buddy, Gates. BTW, when you see the word “research” it doesn’t necessarily mean the paper kind, e.g. as in looking through journals. It can mean the doing kind, as in gain-of-function (GoF) research to enhance the pathogenicity or transmissibility of potential pandemic pathogens (PPPs). Why? A virologist might tell you it is to better understand the biology, ecology, and pathogenesis of viruses, while the rest of us are thinking, “Huh”? GoF “research” was the kind of research that was purportedly going on at the Wuhan Lab that led to its ability to jump species, i.e. infect humans. Until then, it was just a lowly bat virus.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the NIH was funding the lab (and they were) because it is a matter of record that the NIAID, under Fauci, has been working with the president of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) to develop the U.S.-China Program for Biomedical Research Cooperation, to enhance cooperative biomedical research of benefit to both countries. One silver lining of COVID may be to shift away from pharmaceutical companies to preventive lifestyle changes which boost the immune system. Gail, I am very sorry you are on the receiving end in this thread from someone who was trained differently than my very blessed class in med school. At Georgetown Med, we were told in essence, “if you think you are God or know better than someone else, you won’t be here long.” By our Jewish Dean, day one. With the addition of a Catholic fellowship group headed by the wonderful Chaplain Joseph Sweeney SJ we were always at prayer for each other, our teachers and our patients (and laughing with Brooklyn humor with and at ourselves) and were thus nurtured and shepherded to respect colleagues, love and care for patients of all walks, and feel humble and be grateful. I can imagine how rare that is and how differently we might have developed elsewhere. (Same is true with the content and manner of Orthodox teaching, nicht wahr?)

Well, very humbling. In one of Jay’s Globalization lectures, he discusses Dr. Jonas Salk’s book, “The Survival of the Wisest”, now out of print. No. It cannot. Basic genetics. The RNA sequence contains uracil while the DNA one contains thymine. The RNA cannot bond to, or change the DNA.

Genetic code is defined as the nucleotide triplets of DNA and RNA molecules that carry genetic information in living cells. It is my understanding that RNA vaccines work by introducing an mRNA sequence (the molecule which tells cells what to build) which is coded for a disease specific antigen. Would that not qualify as genetic code?

They are correct on the mechanics. I would quibble that the use of the term ‘genetic code’ while not incorrect, is imprecise, because it is a broad enough term that it encompasses multiple levels of definition. Which leads the problem where what they said was correct, but the definition you looked up is also correct. But you do not seem to realize that both these definitions are in use, or that some of your original questions seem to betray a lack of understanding of some of the fundamentals.
At the risk of sounding overly harsh, I would suggest if you are going to get passionately involved in vaccine discussions, you would be well served to do a fair bit of remedial education in the life sciences. I fear you are at once going to try the patience of those with a greater degree of scientific literacy that try to explain things to you while simultaneously being easily misled by propaganda that ‘sounds good’ but is scientifically inaccurate or based on misinformation.

From a glass half-full perspective, I’m glad to live in an age where we have achieved the level of technological development to attack global problems like COVID-19 with mRNA vaccine candidates and mAB treatment therapies.
Keeping up on developments, I’m not terribly concerned about any weird safety considerations with mRNA vaccines. However, I think there is cause for concern over availability since production at scale will be a new thing, and the potential for hiccups is large. But all the eggs are not in that basket, so no actual worries there.
If one were to make a list of greatest accomplishments of human civilization, vaccines would certainly be one of the items at the top. Given how amazingly successful they are, I guess given the nature of humanity, a backlash was inevitable as the generations died out that knew how bad things used to be before modern vaccination.
Approximately fifty percent of vaccines are made using/from aborted fetal tissue. And everyone knows now that it was more than “two fetuses” from decades ago. Your comments reads like Weston from Perelandra by C.S Lewis. Just sayin’ On that note, if anyone hasn’t read The Space Trilogy by C.S. I sit back and admire the high intelligence of those of you who understand a single word of this discussion.
Throughout this COVID 19 crisis, we’ve been pulled this way and that way with conflicting information from “experts”. We don’t know whom to believe. I decided back in May, that I respect those who humbly state that we really don’t know much about this virus. We have a lot to learn. I respect that humility. On the other hand, I steer clear of those who arrogantly claim that they are the true experts, and if we don’t listen to them they say it shows our ignorance and stupidity. That’s a poor way of communicating to the public, many of whom are darn-right frightened and scared of dying.
Except that the people who are supposedly “experts” don’t have the humility to admit that they don’t know anything.
It’s not so much about being afraid of dying, but feeling bitterness and anger toward those who today claim to be taking a moral and scientific high ground when they were in fact the ones who facilitated the spread of this disease in the first place. And a certain measure of shock and dismay seeing people who you thought were like-minded fall into their gas-lit trap and lapse into denialism because the possibility of having a consonant view of reality is as likely as turning lead into gold.
I’m not talking from a place of intellectual or philosophical speculation, I’m not talking because of social or economic concerns, and even though I do have something beyond a layperson’s technical understanding, I’m not even talking from a medical/scientific standpoint.
I’m talking as someone who actually lived through it and lost a member of my household to it. You see it with your own eyes, you feel it yourself. You hear “professionals” dismiss you as buying into hype when you suggest a plan of action based on solid theory (because in the moment, with an unprecedented situation, evidence simply doesn’t exist), and when you reveal that you’re a colleague rather than a layperson, you get CYA (which could just as easily be CIA) doublespeak.
What pisses me off is that there is a certain segment of our society–namely the Left–that is pretending they had this all figured out from the beginning when in fact they were the ones who downplayed and dismissed it à la mode Chinoise.
What pisses me off is that the “experts” don’t know their ass from their elbow and just spout “something” to give the public an “answer,” which has proven to fail said public time and again. When Democrats are wrong, which they usually are, “Republicans” tend to fall into a reactionary trap (as we’re seeing with the current party line) that allows the Democrats to shift the blame for bad advice. Remember in the beginning when Democrats were the ones who were saying that Covid wasn’t dangerous and advised against wearing masks? The Left starts problems and the Right eventually–and unwittingly–picks up their banner, keeping the problem going to their inevitable discredit. It’s so tragicocomically predictable that it makes even the most astute mind travel down the conspiracy-theorizing rabbit hole.

Well, if so, then they’re fools. Soros is an atheist, not an observant Jew.
In any event, he is a world-class criminal. I believe in “equal justice under the law”: it matters not a whit the race, sex or ethnicity of a malefactor is (or it shouldn’t). In addition, it is positively repugnant to me to uphold different levels of criticism based on any external factor against any miscreant.
Having said that, FOX News made a horrible blunder when they imposed this awkwardness on Newt Gingrich. Had they let it play out instead of running interference for Soros, this video would have never gone viral and it wouldn’t have been a news-story. Some are using the word hoax. COVID-19 is not a hoax. It is a deadly virus that has killed over a million people. If it was just a hoax we could forget about it.
