God Bless America!!!

Well, so now it’s official. Our long, national nightmare is over.

His Sumblime Majesty, Barack Hussein Mustafa Abdul-Aziz Obama (may he live for a thousand years!) and his lovely wife Bruno have departed on Marine One. They take with them an astounding collection of screeching cry-bullies, infertile cat-ladies, feminazis, beta-males, numales, sodomists and sodomites, trannies and assorted castrati. Joining them will be the #neverTrumpers of the cuck-right. Enjoy the next few years in the wilderness consulting the sacred neocon texts of The Weekly Standard and National Review. Fat lot of good that has done you.

Good riddance!

Now that I got that off my chest, let us contemplate what is at stake. I believe Providence is at play. Let me explain.

I don’t want to inject religion (or more specifically spirituality) into politics, having seen how the GOP has cynically mucked things up over the past few decades. What with taking my money all these years and their incessant promises to put an end to the ongoing cultural degradation. It’s clear by every metric that they’ve failed (or more likely), were even serious in the first place.

A couple of years ago I realized that those of who are Christians and traditionalists were taken for fools. I hated to admit it to myself but being open to repentance does wonders for the soul (and sanity). Except for increased gun rights, we conservatives have won nothing, repeat, absolutely nothing at all, in the political or cultural sphere. The last three decades were nothing more than a slow decline into the abyss; our neocon masters would dutifully trot out the American flag as we sent our sons to die in the sands of Araby for nothing, all the while we were losing the last vestiges of Christian tradition. The last three decades were nothing more than patriotic window-dressing that was needed in order for our country to get on board with feminism and faggotry.

Oh sure, a few tax cuts here and there, some modest deregulation along the edges, but really our society has done nothing but crumble right before our eyes. The late, great Robert Bork wrote an entire book on this degradation entitled Slouching Towards Gomorrha. Definitely not for the faint at heart.

In truth, given our depravity, I cannot understand why He listened to our prayers. Truly He is merciful. As one wag said, if America is not under judgment then He owes Sodom and Gomorrha an apology. Leaving aside the innocent blood of millions of aborted babies, what is America now known for internationally? Exporting bombs and pornography. That’s all. Gone are the days of the Apollo space program, the Peace Corps or the Marshall Plan. Now it’s all abortion and sodomy.

Fortunately, I’m not God and I can’t see into His mind. He obviously knows something I don’t and He has saved our country from the absolute ruin that a third Obama administration would have wrought. He has certainly brought me from the edge of despair. I therefore have to believe that He is not done with America yet. That He used an arrogant, bombastic womanizer to set our ship aright proves to me that His hand was in this election.

Truth be told, Trump wasn’t my first pick. I really liked Scott Walker. The left threw the kitchen sink at him in Wisconsin. And then there’s Ted Cruz, a brilliant mind if there ever was one. Also Rick Perry. That guy’s done a phenomenal job in Texas. In the normal course of things, I would have supported a John Kasich. Decent men all things considered but still operating under the old paradigm. Yesterday’s men in every sense of the word.

I also thought that Trump would flame out. There were so many gaffes, weren’t there? I thought it was inevitable given time and the tenacity of the mainstream media. And I thought that we’d be stuck with the same old same old: Bush/Clinton; Kasich/Clinton, even Cruz/Clinton. And given the natural cuckoldry of Republicans, who constantly accept the derision and criticism of their enemies, in the end we’d be left with Clinton.

Yep, good ole Crooked Hillary. She would be Madame President. And the GOP would bend over backwards to give her whatever she wanted. And then would go down to eternal (and well-deserved) defeat. If you thought you couldn’t criticize Obama because he was black, woe betide you if you said anything negative about Felonia Millhouse von Pantsuit. And we would continue our further descent into the abyss –with a possible thermonuclear exchange with a resurgent Christian Russia for good measure. Because you know, Putin is beastly to gays and all. Can’t have that, can we?

So how did it happen? Leaving aside the providential aspects of this, the GOP had some internal advantages going into this election. First, there was the fact that political parties rarely hold on to the Presidency for three consecutive terms. Second, there was the economy (stupid). This expansion has been the weakest since the end of WWII. The official unemployment rate is pathetic when you take into account the tens of millions who cannot find work. If you went by the actual, real unemployment rate (12 percent in total, 45 percent for blacks), we’d be talking about a Minor Depression, not a “recovery.” Bush 41 presided over far better numbers than this and he was unceremoniously shown the door by the American people back in ’92.

Third, one can’t overlook the odiousness and sheer criminality of the Clintons. And when it comes to Hillary herself, there’s the paucity of her record. Case in point: a few years ago there was talk of a Hillary biopic starring Diane Lane (one of my favorite actresses). It went nowhere. Even with all the Spielbergian magick that Hollywood could muster, they couldn’t put lipstick on that pig. It’s clear to most anybody outside of CNN that she was a horrible candidate. Horrible and feeble.

Culturally as well, it was clear that thanks to massive illegal immigration, we were well on our way to becoming a Third World hellhole. Couple that with a national media that constantly lies to us about how wonderful diversity is and something snapped in the minds of the remaining American core population. And yeah, I don’t consider some snarling Paki lecturing us at the Democratic Convention about the Constitution to be an “American” any more than I consider Omar Mateen to be an “American.” There’s more to being an American than the location a woman happens to be in while she expels a baby from her uterus.

Then there were these endless wars that the Neolib/Neocons want us engaged in. The official story was always about Democracy but the reality is that all our Oligarchy wants is to engender chaos everywhere. Don’t fool yourself, there’s a lot of money to be made that way. Unofficially, America is known as “the Empire of Chaos.” Russia on the other hand is considered to be a force for stability. Maybe that’s not a fair assessment but that’s what the majority of the world believes.

Taken altogether, you could say that America had a collective nervous breakdown. The coalition of the fringes that elected Barack Hussein Obama in the first place couldn’t put Hillary Dumpty back together again. Still, given the demographic changes that have beset America since 1980 (when Reagan handily won 44 states against an incumbent president) the Electoral College favored the Democrats. Thank you Chamber of Commerce and cuckservatives for Balkanizing our nation. Great job: you have the blood on Kate Steinle and tens of thousands of other innocent Americans on your hands.

So how did it happen? How did Trump snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? When not only the media and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) but the entire GOP establishment was aligned against him? The forces arrayed against him were astounding.

The only possible answer is that God did it. Yep, you heard me right.

About seven months ago, somebody directed me to YouTube. On that site were some prophecies which seemed outlandish. Somewhat skeptical, I listened. One in particular was very specific. It not only predicted victory for Donald Trump but went further with details about corruption being exposed. We saw that thanks to Wikileaks. (And this was before the Podesta emails broke on Wikileaks.)

It also predicted that not only would the Oligarchy throw the kitchen sink at Trump, but that all of its attacks would come to naught. In fact, Trump would also become stronger after each attack. Check, check, check and check. And the funny thing was that this particular prophecy was issued in 2011, not 2015. He also said that the left would never come to repentance and continue in their delusion that the election was somehow stolen from them. Thus they would never change their ways. Check again.

(At this point, I’d like to make my own prediction: that the Democrats will continue to believe that Putin somehow hacked the election, even as Mike Pence is sworn in as President in 2024 and they’re reduced to California and six or seven other states as their electoral base.)

Did I want to believe it? Yeah, I did. But like Cromwell, I kept my powder dry. For that I checked out more secular sites. Scott Adams of Dilbert fame said way back in October of 2015 that Trump was going to win in a landslide. He said that Trump was a “Master Persuader” who mastered the the “linguistic kill-shot.” Those dealing in Artificial Intelligence and who look at social media algorithms also predicted a Trump win. And there were others. Geda the Chinese prophet-monkey was one of my favorites. You can google them for yourself if you’re so inclined. One in particular said that on January 20, 2017 Donald Trump will be seventy years, seven months and seven days old. I honestly don’t know what to make of that one.

Regardless of what you or I may think about all of this, the fact remains that we are seeing the passing of the old New World Order. A special shout out to Nigel Farage, who likewise kept the faith in Great Britain and who engineered the miraculous Brexit last June. Kudos also to Vladimir Putin who stared down Soros’ puppet and wisely has steered clear of the facile traps that the American Deep State has thrown in his way.

So what does the future portend? God only knows. Right now many on the left are completely losing it. The other day, a commentator on CNN called Martin Luther King III and football great Jim Brown “mediocre negroes.” Can you believe it? What would happen if a Republican said that? The Young Turks and the ladies of The View are frothing at the mouth. I’ve never heard so many F-bombs dropped in my life. A suicidal group of Democratic Congressmen are boycotting the Inauguration. I wonder how many goodies they’re going to be able to take home? Memo to Speaker Ryan: you don’t owe those goofballs anything. You can cut a lot of Federal spending beginning in their districts.

We are headed into uncharted territory. Still, I’m hopeful. If Trump just accomplishes ten percent of what he promised and fights vociferously for the other 90 percent, then we’ll be in a far, far better place than we have been for at least a generation. I really enjoyed his first press conference last week. Not only did he take down the Fake News arrayed against him but saddled it around the neck of the intelligence agencies. James Clapper had to call him and apologize.

And know this: that the old paradigms no longer work.

Amen. Clear it all out, every bit of it.

Incidentally, we may all be carrying openly soon, just like it used to be in feudal times, Japan and the Old West, except without the caste restrictions:

  2. Obama’s and Clinton’s peeps are rioting in the streets of DC. Again we are shown the face of those who would have led our nation into the abyss. Quite the difference between us in defeat eight years ago and them now. What the left does not get is that these pictures of the riots only strengthens our numbers. Most average Americans don’t want any association with such trash and more will come to Trump. Time for Trump to show no quarter to those who would like to see him gone. Anarchy cannot be negotiated, only destroyed.

George your essay was brutally honest, and right on point. A great day indeed!

Atheists were triggered by the seemingly endless stream of scripture readings and prayers at the inauguration.

All of the six clergy prayed explicitly in Jesus’ Name, except the rabbi and the cardinal.

      We can forgive the rabbi.

      • Let’s not forget Archbishop Dimitri praying explicitly in Jesus name, at the Dem and Repub convention!! Oh! Wait! He didn’t???? So much for the American OrthodoxChristian leader of The Wor ld’s True Church. I suppose his sponsors would not allow mention of his Savior.

      • The cardinal also had his pectoral cross in his breast pocket. Wouldn’t want to offend people, you know.

Still, he did choose a good reading.

  4. May we pray for all men and for our leaders and all in authority that we may lead quiet, peaceful and lives pleasing to God. Our nation, and the world has fallen far from God. May the Lord give not only our leaders, but us as well, the tenacity, the faith and the endurance to fight the good fight in all godliness and dignity.

And lo, on the very first full day of the Trump Administration, it made its first test upon George Michalopulos’s soul and integrity.

For Trump stood in front of the memorial wall at the CIA and told a gigantic whopper about the size of his inaugural crowd.

And then, later in the day, Sean Spicer summoned the press, made a ludicrous statement openly at odds with observed reality and lambasted them for having accurately reported the crowds at the inauguration. It was insane.

This, on a day following the inauguration, where protests were taking place in the same physical location, at the same chronological time, that visually dwarfed the crowds of the previous day.

Which, really, leaves Mr. Michalopulos with three primary approaches:
    * Acknowledge that Trump is telling a gigantic whopper of a lie
    * Pretend nothing is happening
    * Defend Trump’s obvious, blatant, huge lie as the real truth

Party time was yesterday. This is Day. One.

    • George Michalopulos says

Nate, before you continue to sing the praises of Imam Brennan, know this: his first vote as a young man was for Gus Hall, the chairman of the CPUSA. He spent a lot of time in Saudi Arabia, speaks fluent Arabic and it is rumored to have converted to Islam.

And you wonder why Saudi owns DC?

      • Nate Trost says

And we have our answer, George Michalopulos chooses the craven cowardice of option 2: pretend the lie never happened. Indeed, he doesn’t even acknowledge its existence as the sole point of my post and replies with an attempt to change the topic to a completely different, irrelevant subject. Which is pathetically transparent.

And thus Mr. Michalopulos passes his first obedience test from his Glorious Leader. On day one, Trump can make a big, bold, obvious public lie, which is meekly accepted by George Michalopulos. It doesn’t matter whether or not Mr. Michalopulos actually embraces or actively perpetuates it, all that was necessary was for him to not call it for what it was: a lie, and let it pass unchallenged.

It was not the first, and it will not be the last.

It’s also a bit choice that a guy who likes to label people ‘cucks’ or ‘betas’ picks option two. Option one was the only morally correct choice, but even option three could be deemed masculine, if wrong.

        • George Michalopulos says

You calling me a coward? That’s the pot calling the kettle black. To this day you’ve resolutely refused to answer certain simple yes/no questions.

          • Yes, I am calling you, George Michalopulos, a coward for your actions. You attempt to dissemble and distract by asking me yes/no questions about irrelevant tangents when I press you on your perpetuating falsehoods or expressing ignorant opinions out of line with established facts. You are in essence whining that I don’t fall for your bait when you get caught being full of it and try to wriggle free. If you honestly think that is a valid rhetorical tactic, then I am once again going to have to revise downward my assumptions about your intelligence.

That you engage in this behavior is incredibly bush league, obvious, and transparent, and furthers my claim that you are engaging in rank cowardice when being called on the carpet for your internet sophistry. That so many of the people who argue with you eventually give up and leave your blog isn’t due to the strength of your arguments but a recognition that it’s utterly pointless to actually attempt to engage with you in any kind of good faith debate. And that is entirely on you.

Even now, you do nothing to refute my observation that the Glorious Leader of George Michalopulos can apparently make a ridiculous giant public lie, and his response is: meek acquiesce.

            • George Michalopulos says

Well, since I answer your questions, and since you simply won’t answer mine, you are clearly the coward, even by your definitions.

Just because you may not like my answers is immaterial.

As for my very simple questions, which you deem not germane somehow, it shows me that you are clearly scared of the implications. My questions are foundational and offer a simple reference from which to argue. If we can’t agree on first principles, then subsequent argument is fruitless.

Now, I’m pretty sure why you won’t answer these basic questions, because like most liberals you either aren’t capable of understanding the full impact of what would happen if you actually thought about it or you are aware and are terrified of doing so. If the latter is the case, you think that by adhering to merely ideals then you are exempt from doing the heavy lifting which would mean you would have to break a sweat every now and then.

I think of the Epistle of James, in which he excoriates those Christians who see a beggar on the side of a road and who say to them: “I will pray for you, Brother.” That’s really the encapsulation of modern liberalism since I’d say the 1960s if you ask me. Just make a universalist assertion and then run along your merry way, being heedless of the heavy lifting that is required or the disastrous consequences of the universalist principle(s) in the first place.

Your cowardice is further underscored by the fact that unlike you, I am not scared of stating what my foundational principles are. Nor should I be as they are rooted in both Scripture and historical reality. You however are incapable of stating what your’s are since that allows you to engage in slippery and ad hominem argumentation.

              • George Michalopulos wrote
Well, since I answer your questions

Except, of course, you don’t. The crux here is when you ‘answer’ them by asking me irrelevant questions as a reply, and then act like you have some kind of moral high ground for having dodged the question.

                George Michalopulos wrote
Just because you may not like my answers is immaterial.

You didn’t even answer my implicit question in this thread of how you were going to respond to Trump’s lie. For me to dislike answers to your questions, those answers kind of have to exist first.

Or, alternatively, they are irrelevant distractions either through direct irrelevant question or lack of answer in reply, which is my charge. Naturally you disagree. You do it in this thread, as if how the former DCIA voted for President as a 21 year old in college is relevant to Trump having lied about his inauguration crowds.

I’m so liberal I voted for Bush twice and Obama zero times! You constantly project political beliefs on to me as an excuse to not address my claims and concerns rather than acknowledge my criticism on the merits.

Has it ever occurred to you that I might be arguing with you not because I’m a ‘prog-lib’, but because based on your writing and commentary, I deem you an Internet blowhard who plays fast and loose with the truth, and when criticized and corrected goes to elaborate lengths to evade any accountability or responsibility for your intellectual laziness and apparent lack of personal integrity in what you write? And that you are so bad at it debating you is the equivalent in hunting terms of clubbing a baby seal?

                George Michalopulos wrote

Historical reality? You can’t even face the historical reality of a former president being in the Caribbean this week, or even stand up for the historical reality of an inauguration that happened less than a week ago!

From the Obama vacation story, apparently “In Drudge We Trust”.

            • Part of the disconnect between sane people and the Left is that the Left is obsessed with determining empirical factual accuracy and considers it truth. Objective reality is truth, no doubt, but the Left is simply not objective. They perpetually twist reality to fit their ideological paradigm. They bless it when it conforms and ignore or deny it when it contradicts.

What Trump might assert as being a true statement regarding the comparative size of inaugural crowds is irrelevant to policy. Policy is opinion, a reaction, an analysis and judgment. It is based on fact but it is not fact, merely opinion.

Nonetheless, not all opinions are created equally. Some are based on attitudes which are closer to reflecting the dynamics of objective reality than others. Some models of reality are more accurate than others. Progressive liberalism is in the process of being discredited as a model for understanding reality. It cannot explain the fact that there is human programming (our innate tendencies and instincts as humans) which is not malleable to its ideology. It is being confronted – very inconveniently – with the fact of a Programmer, a Programmer Who is not a Progressive Liberal.

      Trump:
1.) Just got us out of TPP
2.) Ended the funding of Abortion internationally.
3.) kept carrier and others in America to give American’s jobs
4.) Bombing the hell out of ISIS and staring to eradicate the Extreme Muslim Terrorists
5.) Took on and continues to take on Fake news outlets like CNN, MSNBC and others.
AND all this just within his first 100 days or before taking office.

So far so good. I can see why Nate’s PizzaGate Worldview is exploding. As former VP Biden said rightly Trump will undo the Liberal International Order (i.e New World Order). For me and other good men and women of America this is a great thing. A truly great thing. Go Trump!

      Peter

    • See, the thing is that we are all conditioned to believe that what comes from the NYT/CBS/WP etc is factually accurate. But we know that that is not the case. They have been lying for quite some time as well as picking and choosing what to highlight and de-emphasize and spinning all of it constantly.

So when they report something, the rational reaction is to doubt it and try to figure out what really happened. That’s what a sane person does when a lying press makes a statement.

As to Trump, I have no idea whether he is more accurate or the MSM is. I have no third dispassionate measuring apparatus against which to compare their utterances.

However, what I do know is that Trump’s policies are much more in accord with the Law of God than his opponents. As Jack Nicholson playing Jimmy Hoffa said to a reporter in the movie “Hoffa”, right before a strike got physical: “At the end of the day, there is only what has been gained and what has been lost. Make the rest of it up yourself.”

It must be wonderful to have that kind of money and place it where it will do the most good, meanwhile the penniless ideologues, SJW/crybullies and otherwise heavily-indebted coffee house baristas have to resort to burning trashcans in the streets to communicate how truly awful Trump is.

May God work a miracle in this land and roll back the licentiousness of these murderers through the Supreme Court. But I fear it’s already too late.

God will not be mocked. The question is, has he had enough?

    • M. Stankovich says

      Ages,

My wife attended the march here in San Diego on Saturday, which the city estimated to have been a gathering of approximately 40,000 people in a county of only 1.6 million people. Approximately 22,000 registered for the event, and the actual turnout overwhelmed the city’s preparations – that marchers would travel on the sidewalks, for example – but spontaneously moved into the streets and disrupted traffic for hours.

I would note to you that the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Diego was conducting its yearly “Right to Life March” that same morning, and at the point where that march concluded intersected with the Women’s March, many women were reported to have spontaneously joined with the Woman’s March. This speaks to the fact that this march was not a worship of the “institution of abortion,” and in fact, the sponsors and organizers of the march in San Diego were quite vocal about the fact that attempts to “dilute” the overall mission of demonstrating solidarity with partisan “issues” was not welcomed.

My wife attended this march specifically because she is a clinician at federally funded clinic serving legally admitted refugees – e.g. women who literally carried their children by foot across a desert in Darfur to escape civil war, or Christian mothers who fled Iraq and Syria with their children at a moment’s notice because of bombing or ISIS retaliation – the working poor, the under-served, and racial & ethnic minorities. She attended to represent a constituency that fears a loss of benefits for medical & psychiatric care for themselves and their families, an issue that impacts 15 million individuals in the State of California, the majority of which are women, infants, and children.

You have, in my estimation, casually, flippantly, arrogantly, and ignorantly referred to my wife as a “licentious murderer” – apparently by what? Association? – because of what you “watched” through the myopic blinders of your own stupidity and bias; and, I strongly suspect, attempting to win a few cheaply purchased slaps on the back for your “macho” talk. And I adamantly and emphatically correct you by saying God is continually mocked on this site by the insinuation that women were somehow created as an “afterthought” by our God, the Father of purity, chastity, and fidelity, because men needed a “divinely ordained servant” to help pass the time making babies & sandwiches; who deserve & enjoy dominance – even physically and sexually; who are so fundamentally weak and immoral as to be “helpless” from being seduced by a rich & entitled pig; and ultimately, culminating in mockery of the prototype, the “new Eve,” the mother of our Savior, whose obedience was the beginning of our Salvation.

As I see it, you owe my wife an apology for your ugly generalizations and your inability to even conceive that women could be motivated by moral principles, by the Gospel, and by moral character, rather than the ego-compromised projections of beta male faggotry.

      • Sorry M.S., but all I saw on TV was women crying about the cost of tampons and women wearing “I Heart Abortion” shirts.

I would not call your wife a murderer, but I would question her judgment in associating with such people. She is doing the real work in the support of life and that is great. She has no need to march alongside such wicked, wicked people. It’s not going to advance her cause.

Large-scale marches are meant to affect public perception of an issue and change minds. When 90% of the women are marching for unfettered child-murder, it doesn’t matter why the other 10% are there. They would do better to write letters and stay home, because at least they won’t be added to the crowd figures.

Let’s suppose there was a rally of 100,000 self-professed Christians whose aim is to promote the Christian faith. But then it comes out that 90,000 of them are Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the speakers at the rally are screaming about how Jesus is not God and the Trinity is a false doctrine.

Why would I, as an Orthodox Christian, participate? Sure it’s ostensibly a pro-Christian rally, but it is promoting everything I stand against. It is very nearly delusional to think I would promote Orthodoxy by participating in such an event.

        • M. Stankovich says

When 90% of the women are marching for unfettered child-murder, it doesn’t matter why the other 10% are there.

You no more can presume to speak for the 90% as you can the 10%. I repeat myself that you are simply ignorant and myopic because you cannot conceive that women would gather in such a manner by virtue of moral character, but are simply mouton de Panurge, waiting to be slapped around a little because it aligns with an ego-compromised beta male fantasy. Are you privy to some legitimate survey data that indicates some corroboration to your foolishness, or did you pull it from your derriere?

As I read the words of the Lord, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt. 5:16),” I am unaware of some additional “clause” or interpretation that suggests, “But only do so when you stand a good chance of making a quantitative impact.” And in instructing us that “the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (Jn. 1:5),” more importantly is the fact that, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name, which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (Jn. 1:12-13).” She had no need? It would have been “better to write letters and stay home?” You will pardon me, but in my estimation, this is exactly why civil courts are determining the moral issue of our generation, because Orthodox Christians stayed home and wrote letters, lacking the fundamental courage to rise up and challenge the darkness which attempts to engulf us.

I suspect that you need to take the medicine you would ascribe to our God Himself, “The question is, has he had enough?” My thought is that you, and those who reason like you, can take a whole lot more. Sit back and bitch, son. You are not prepared to battle.

          • To Fr. Hans’ wise sharing of facts, I would add:

The Lord was perfectly satisfied to not waste His time with people who would not receive His word. He told the Apostles to dust off their feet and let their peace return to them after walking out of such environments.

And when the Jews would not embrace their Christ, but rather murdered Him, He went to call the Gentiles instead.

Thus says the Lord to the Jews, ‘My people, what have I done to you? Or in what have I wearied you? I gave light to your blind, I cleansed your lepers, I set upright a man lying on a bed. My people, what have I done to you, and how have you repaid me? Instead of the manna, gall; instead of the water, vinegar; instead of loving me, you have nailed me to a cross. I can endure no longer; I will call my nations, and they will glorify me, with the Father and the Spirit; and I shall grant them eternal life. (Matins of Holy Friday)

It is for the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts to receive the truth. Find those who will receive it; don’t waste time with those who will not. Women who are dressing up their (surviving) daughters as vaginas and screaming for unfettered abortion are decidedly not. God help them.

The March for Life is a useful outlet, and those kinds of marches should be expanded. But you’re not going to cast out demons by joining forces with the demons.

Writing letters to key people who make the decisions is a better option than marching under the banner of literal Moloch worshippers. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Mass demonstrations on the Washington Mall is a decidedly Baby Boomer kind of approach anyway. It was amusing to watch videos of the protesters being arrested though.

            • M. Stankovich says

              Ages,

Your grasp of the issues at hand is – at best – shallow, inept, and theoretical. I blame this, in large part, on self-proclaimed “experts” like Fr. Hans who have abdicated their patristic role in the church in lieu of selling unproven & unprovable “secular solutions” to the most fundamental of theological dilemmas. Fr. Georges Florovsky addressed this issue years ago,

It is here that we are touching upon the deepest cause of the enduring confusion in the discussion about “Faith and Culture.” The deepest theological issues are involved in this discussion, and no solution can ever be reached unless the theological character of the discussion is clearly acknowledged and understood. We need a theology of culture, even for our “practical” decisions. No real decision can be made in the dark

yet Fr. Hans has dismissed him as “relevant in his day but not so much anymore.” Florovsky wrote,

Should Christians, as Christians, be concerned with this cultural crisis at all? If it is true, as we have just admitted, that the collapse or decline of culture is rooted in the loss of faith, in an “apostasy” or “retreat,” should not Christians be concerned, primarily if not exclusively, with the reconstruction of belief or a reconversion of the world, and not with the salvaging of a sinking civilization? If we are really passing in our days an “apocalyptic” test, should we not concentrate all our efforts on Evangelism, on the proclamation of the Gospel to an oblivious generation, on the preaching of penitence and conversion?

Secondly, those of us in the Church must consider that,

Christianity, by its very nature, was a missionary religion and aimed at a universal conversion. The subtle distinction “in the world, but not of the world,” could not settle the basic problem, for “the world” itself had to be redeemed and could not be endured in its un-reformed state… [And that] Christianity is not an individualistic religion and is not concerned only with the salvation of individuals. Christianity is the Church, i.e. a Community, leading its corporate life according to its peculiar principles.

We must, then, necessarily conclude that

The practical problem is therefore reduced to the question of a sound and faithful orientation in a concrete historical situation. Christians are not committed to the denial of culture as such. But they are to be critical of any existing cultural situation and measure it by the measure of Christ. For Christians are also the Sons of Eternity, i.e. prospective citizens of the Heavenly Jerusalem. Yet problems and needs of “this age” in no case and in no sense can be dismissed or disregarded, since Christians are called to work and service precisely “in this world” and “in this age.” Only all these needs and problems and aims must be viewed in that new and wider perspective which is disclosed by the Christian Revelation and illumined by its light.

But the best example is the Lord himself, who when he could not be located in the Temple or preaching among the leaders was always to be found among the sick, the rejected, and the most despicable of humanity; everyone a Jew was not to be associated or seen with for any reason – and how ironic that we find ourselves at the door of the home of Zacchaeus. What fear and what shame do those who are unafraid to carry the message of the salvation of our God to those most desperately in need? For this mission we were chosen and called (“You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” Jn. 15:16); because of this mission, the Lord warned us that we would be hated and despised (“If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Jn. 15:18-19); but ultimately, out of this mission He told us, is victory (“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Jn. 16:33). And only an Orthodox priest who has abandoned his patristic vocation would suggest that repeating – and repeating, and repeating – the words of comfort & encouragement on the very lips of the Savior Himself as “promiscuous” and “violates their sanctity and subverts their meaning.”

You misunderstand & misinterpret the words of the Lord, “shake off the dust under your feet” (Mk. 6:11) to mean “don’t waste His time with people who would not receive His word,” when, in fact, His exact words were “whoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart there,” departing after your best effort to do as He did, to “preach that men should repent.” I challenging your lack of empowerment and lack of faith that would prevent you from “[being] ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.” (1 Pet. 3:15) You preach a “mission” of cowardice, laziness, and indifference, in opposition to the instruction and direct example of the Savior Himself. Where do you find the Lord, Ages? Among the sick, the rejected, the despicable, and the loathsome: “This day is salvation come to this house, as much as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Lk. 19:10)

              • In Luke, the Lord says “if they do not welcome you.” Doesn’t sound like the Lord is asking his Apostles to beg and plead.

                • Let’s try not to spoil a good thing.

I pray that the LORD will send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to calm everyone down and let God work on His own time table. Zeal is good, but it is possible to be overzealous.

Rushing God is a no-no. Rushing God is the devil’s work. We cooperate with God. I am guilty of this as much as anyone. I have asked Him to forgive me and I believe that He has.

Let God’s will be done. I trust Him. Please trust Him too. God is love.

He may want to rethink that. I mean, I don’t have anything against Bannon. But I’m not sure why he wouldn’t want DNI to be a regular.

          • Michael S,

You know I respect you. But how do you reconcile this statement with your criticisms of what you have repeatedly said is the uselessness of the Annual March for Life?

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt. 5:16),” I am unaware of some additional “clause” or interpretation that suggests, “But only do so when you stand a good chance of making a quantitative impact.” … You will pardon me, but in my estimation, this is exactly why civil courts are determining the moral issue of our generation, because Orthodox Christians stayed home and wrote letters, lacking the fundamental courage to rise up and challenge the darkness which attempts to engulf us.”

            • M. Stankovich says

You are incorrect. I have never, not once, said the March for Life was “useless.” I said that a once-a-year event is an illusion that the church in America possesses & exercises a moral voice of authority in the public square, and that it deceptively serves to promote the false notion that “something” is being done to address the moral catastrophes of our generation – apart from anonymous bitching and moralizing on the internet – when indifference reigns.

              • Well, then, I stand corrected about your saying it is useless. Still, I fail to see the difference between them marching and your wife marching for…I’m not quite sure what. How is it somehow different?

The Church has a voice – the voice – of moral authority; does she not? That most choose not to listen is, as you say, not the issue. She is called to speak the truth regardless of whether she stands “a good chance of making a quantitative impact.”

“Thus says the Lord GOD.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.”

Now I will not deny that her voice is, shall we say, ‘diluted’ in its cultural impact by the rebellious within her own house, by those who refuse to live by her precepts. But how would you propose that she do “something [other than speak]…to address the moral catastrophes of our generation.”?

Having said this, it should be made clear that while having a positive impact on culture is a good thing, it is merely a happy byproduct – certainly not the goal – of our being the light of the world. It is not our job to make this world a better place (as if that were even possible). To believe that we – even as the Church – are either qualified or able to do so is a delusion of the devil. There is only One who is worthy and able to judge (that is, to restore all things to their right order). We are called only to love our neighbor, the real, concrete person before us and the only one we have any possibility of loving.

          • Dear God, that list.

Are you still going to defend this garbage, M.S.?

          • Ages, I understand your point, but, Mr. Stankovich’s point , and Matthew 5:16 make more sense in that what if 10% of that 90%, inquires Mr. Stankovich’s wife’s light.

      • The largest question in my mind about this “Women’s March” is what, exactly, were they protesting against? What does your wife, for example, think Trump plans to change about the healthcare of legally admitted refugees? Or what does he plan (unless one believes our friend Misha’s delusions) in terms of the subjugation of women that isn’t a media-created narrative?

I can certainly understand any given woman’s aversion to Trump as a person (and if so, where were these marchers for respect for women when good ol’ Bill was in office?). But I know of nothing he has said or plans to do in terms of actual policy as president that amounts to anything more than crazed anxiety whipped up by the speculative delusions of the Progressive Leftist media.

There is one exception to this speculative delusion: Abortion as it relates to SCOTUS nominees, and even that is speculative, though to a lesser degree.

        • Michael Bauman says

Everything is propaganda: movies, TV shows, adds, schooling, news, fake news, work, leisure, what we are allowed to buy, the internet. We live in an ocean of ideological propganda and lies.

Even many homilies in churches including the Church.

The Cross, the grave, the Resurrection, the second coming. But do we even know what these things are?

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France of dubious value. Lady Liberty. “Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free . . .” – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Colossus

            * * *

Paul Auster wrote that “Bartholdi’s gigantic effigy was originally intended as a monument to the principles of international republicanism, but ‘The New Colossus’ reinvented the statue’s purpose, turning Liberty into a welcoming mother, a symbol of hope to the outcasts and downtrodden of the world.”[8]

John T. Cunningham wrote that “The Statue of Liberty was not conceived and sculpted as a symbol of immigration, but it quickly became so as immigrant ships passed under the torch and the shining face, heading toward Ellis Island. However, it was [Lazarus’s poem] that permanently stamped on Miss Liberty the role of unofficial greeter of incoming immigrants.”[9]

            * * *

There is good immigration and bad immigration. A country that does not control its borders is not sovereign. It is like a church that admits or does not cast out heretics. One must be discerning. And the one to decide is not a feminine idol in New York Harbor.

Do you see why we Orthodox do not approve of three dimensional images? . . . let alone of a false goddess . . .

            a sign?

            • Yes, Fr. Hans, agreed.

I love America. Nothing at all wrong with being a patriot. I confess that, like many others, the blinding stupidity of our leadership in some previous administrations and congresses had me bewildered as to whether America would ever get its act together.

Perhaps it is doing so now. We shall see.

      • Your wife chose to be counted with those whose main motivation is to keep the abortion mill running, your morally projected sophistry aside.

Your irrational ramblings about perceived hatred of women on this site continues to astound. Half the time you sound more like an agent provacateur rather than a sincere contributor.

        • M. Stankovich says

          Steven,

Your perceptions are most fascinating, particularly your contrivance of speech, “morally projected sophistry”; associating a “moral projection” with that which is described as “specious, fallacious, and purposely misleading” strikes me as foolish, but you, undoubtedly, had your reasons. Secondly, your charge that I have rambled “irrationally” based on a perception of the “hatred of women” is simply untrue: I have very specifically, very succinctly, and with carefully measured reasoning indicated that the degradation of women that has occurred on this site is sourced in the diminished ego-strength of beta males who, rather than acknowledge their own fundamental insecurities, respond with transparent, unconscious faggotry. And for the record it is provocateur in both English and French.

Finally, Steven, perhaps you could explain to me your furtherance of the notion of “guilt by association” of a woman in a crowd of 40,000 marchers, yet you, Ages, others so verbal of my wife’s participation, or in Mr. Michalopolus’ example of the multi-hair-colored lesbian in AK, seem undisturbed – in fact strike me as downright “understanding” and tolerant – of the pig of a man Milo Yiannopoulos? Somehow, I’d bet the house that if Milo was a radical, provocative lesbian with the identical “success” in the new politics, we would be hearing the customary “matriarchy” faggotry.

    • True that, wonder how much they’re paid ?

Hmm…I wonder what it will mean (if anything) for Fr. Alex Karloutsos and the Phanar since it’s been reported that Fr. Alex and Sorros are buddies and neighbors in the Hamptons.

  8. Trump may have been informed that the science done recently, as to the cause of global warming has been ignoring climate change most potent and powerful cause. One, cosmic rays are a vital ingredient to cloud formation. 2, the suns magnectic field is twice as strong as it was 100 years ago. This effects cosmic rays very directly, and global weather patterns. Some say it is the principle cause of global warming. This leaves no effective solution to global warming, and taxation is a useless heavy burden. The Holy God informed the King of Heaven of the 3rd bowl of His wrath 2,000 years ago. St John the Theologian does describe what is presently occurring in his list of the bowls of God’s wrath. This is what the Holy God is doing to take back and restore His Creation to a perfection equal to what it was before the fall in Eden. All we can do is prepare to get ready to endure to the end, because nothing is capable of stopping the Command of God, Life Eternal.

  9. The Woman’s Marches for eternal damnation showed the intense resistance of this evil generation, who all had a mother, but refuse to do unto their own children as was done unto them. They have no excuse, it is direct rejection of the grace of God which is the only thing that could save their souls. A very, very, unhappy ugly reality
    \

    • I always knew the movement was wicked, but I decided that it was truly and actually demonic when I saw a clip some time ago of a woman proudly proclaiming, “I kill my kids.”

The denial of fetal personhood is only the plebeian level of the “pro-choice” position. The true lovers and promoters of abortion know full well that they are murdering children, and they revel in it.

      • Yes, the Women’s March is diabolical and probably possessed in some individual cases. It is where the devil chooses to move his front in the war.

      • Estonian Slovak says

What????? Can you post this clip here?

      • Thank you father for that video, hopefully Mike Myers has seen it too. Mike seems to think that our tax dollars, that go to Planned Parenthood are only for prenatal care apparently that’s not the case.

Obviously our tax dollars help keep Planned Parenthood afloat while they provide abortion services, under the guise of humanitarian health services for the poor, and uninsured.

    Matthew 4:7:
“Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

    Deuteronomy 6:12-19:
“Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted Him in Massah. Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and His testimonies, and His statutes, which He hath commanded thee. And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.”:

    Exodus 7:1-7:
“And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?” And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?”

This seems to me to be a fairly accurate appraisal of Trump’s strategy. I’m not sure how the Iranian thing will play out. If he intends to destabilize the regime, he better have an idea of what to replace it with. My first thought was to try to locate the rightful Iranian heir, whoever would have succeeded Shah Muhammad Reza Pahlavi.

We’ve seen the fate of democracy in the Islamic world. Better forget that.
