Breaking: Has a Nominee for the Diocese of the South Been Found?
The letter was passed around after Liturgy at Agape the Sunday after it was sent. Apparently, my Priest received it. He’s not a hierarch.

Wow. If vladyka Dmitri, another humble and honest man of God, made those remarks, then this situation is not only serious, but frightening. People who behave as if they have no soul are usually diagnosed as sociopaths.

Peter is right, Fr. Justin is one of the most humble and honest Orthodox priests you can find. If he felt compelled to write such a letter, then the situation is indeed very, very serious, and his words should be heeded. Fr. Justin is no gossip monger or hater. I’m confident that if you take it upon yourself to pray about this, God will lead you to follow Fr. Justin’s advice, because Fr. Justin is definitely a man of God.

Where is the Accountability and Transparency in the DOS?
Please, let us remember that the Synod did not validate the election of +Demios of blessed memory to an episcopate in Canada. That was good news for those of us in the South. I looked around a bit after hearing nothing about the other candidates on the slate, but being told by a usually reliable source, that there are three on it. It looks to me that Met. Melitious (?) Webber may also be a candidate. That same usually reliable source stated that all three candidates have baggage that they would bring with them.

And NEVER use your employer’s equipment (computer, cell phone) for personal communications. (Every employer I’ve had since e-mail came into the corporate arena has trained the employees that they have no legal expectation of privacy if using the employer’s hardware.) Especially, if you’re using your employer’s hardware, be SURE to sign out of your personal e-mail account.

Same-Sex Marriage and the Revolt Against Metropolitan Jonah
This grievous situation has been very troubling for the faithful at Holy Trinity for several years, and now they are homeless “runaways” by necessity, in Lev’s terminology. Not much is said about the suffering of “the old and faithful parishioners, who love the parish and church services” when there is no clarity about sin.

«« Back To Stats PageJames,
St Seraphim’s use to have at least 125 communicants each Sunday. Attendance is down. Giving is off by 60%. You are free to have your perceptions about reality, but the fact is that things have not gotten any better since Bishop Mark arrived. Only one person spoke up in favor of Bishop Mark at the special meeting. Just one. And that one person now knows the whole story and feels really dumb for being taken in by the Mark’s sad story of people out to get him. He did it to himself. He stole emails. He lied to parishioners and he showed a deep disrespect for Fr Anderson who has been there for 15 years. Finally, if he is such a great guy, why did even Fr Moretti bail on him when he realized that he had sucked him into his web of theft and deceit? The best thing for St Seraphim’s is to turn this guy out and turn the page. Get a real bishop who can lead the Cathedral and Diocese into the future.» Posted By Mary On May 26, 2011 @ 3:37 am
