In Memoriam: Archbishop +Dmitri of Dallas
All,
I’m still trying to no avail to find /any/ info on the Bp Mark issues…and Fr Joseph Fester. I don’t know what happened to both of them (*poof* they were gone) even though I attend a nearby church and parishioners from the Cathedral and our parishioners kind of go back and forth to each others’ churches. I just heard nothing (our parishioners are so good about not gossiping). I don’t want to hear/spread gossip about anyone, I just want to know what in the world happened.I had good impressions of both of them from very limited exposure so it was shocking to hear of so many veiled comments about things they might have done. I only saw Bp. Mark twice – once when he ordained our only subdeacon and tonsured one of our readers and then last week at services for Vladika Dmitri. Saw Fr. Fester once only at our church. Never heard anyone say anything negative about either but heard online that there was a terrible problem at the Cathedral related to both of them. Any help appreciated…

Helga,
Can you or anyone tell me where to find any information, preferably balanced (though I wouldn’t expect it) on the whole Bishop Mark controversy? BTW, I can tell who you are by your writing style (and you know me :-0) …it was great seeing you at all the services for Vladyka this week.I have asked our priest and he won’t say a word to me about what was/is going on. I told him that it’s not so much wanting to hear or spread gossip, but it’s something like the situation when one of our managers at work, a very well-liked woman, was suddenly shunted off to a ‘broom closet’ job and then finally faded away and was ‘let go’ for no apparent reason…and it was obviously ‘verboten’ to talk about or ask about the matter. It is disconcerting when a leader is suddenly just ‘gone’ and there is no explanation about why and what happened…please help.

I like to call Drezhlo ‘Stan-Marie’ since I researched him and found out that he is no lady (and learned his real identity). I read Remnant’s comment after I posted…I do apologize for mentioning that name.

I’m sending out a test here to see if I’m being stopped from posting here. I posted some comments for the first time in a discussion about Vladika Dmitri that I didn’t see as anything worth censoring (nothing inflammatory like many things posted here) but all the posts were deleted this morning. Do we need to pass some kind of test to participate here? Still waiting for answer from site owner.

Same-Sex Marriage and the Revolt Against Metropolitan Jonah
Valerie Karras of SMU is said in the article above to be ‘non-OCA’…but she attends at the same OCA church that I attend and has since before I even knew it existed. Maybe she is just a frequent visitor?

Historic Concelebration of the Divine Liturgy by OCA Metropolitan Jonah, ROCOR Metropolitan Hilarion
«« Back To Stats PageTo me it is somewhat similar to a hypothetical problem I considered while watching CNN in the break room at work (it’s on 24/7). They were discussing ‘Chaz’ Bono’s appearing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and that Cher was extremely incensed by ‘Chaz”s treatment by certain people who thought that the show had some agenda for promoting transgender people, etc. The host said, basically, that he understood Cher’s anger because //her SON was being attcked…// (rolling eyes here). If it were me on that show and my principles didn’t allow me to view ‘Chaz’ as either a man or as Cher’s ‘son’, should I be required to talk about it as if I did believe that? That would seem to force me to say something against my conscience.
Requiring Helga to refer to Stan as //he// prefers, as Barbara-Marie (Varvara) (rolling eyes again) and as a woman is forcing her to accept your or some agenda’s views on morality and sexuality. At least that’s how it seems to me. Am I required to speak politically correctly just because I’m expected to by the majority, the popular culture, etc.? Can’t I speak the truth as I see it without molding my words to suit a group that I don’t agree with?
