Laurie Paffhausen, May Her Memory Be Eternal

Archpriest Alexander F. C. Webster, PhD says:
December 2, 2012 at 6:55 pm

Mr. Stankovich, if you deem yourself worthy of comparison to the Lord Almighty

Fr., you mean to say that Mr. Stankovich ISN’T the Lord Almighty?
Wow, he sure had me fooled.

How is it that one of Stokoe’s recent “victory” interviews is publicized on the OCL website and another one more recently on the OCA website when everyone knows his life style and leading role he played in bringing about the OCAs recent “time of troubles”? Something really “smells bad” about that to me.

Carl K., now tell us something we don’t already know.

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 24, 2012 @ 7:24 pm

Thomas Paine, if you cannot or will not detail for us here the “truth” that you are championing, we can only conclude that you are more than likely not being truthful yourself.

“it was a great interview.”
“Mark said the right things”
“sounded like a statesman”
“that is how I see it”
“y’all will have to be more like him..”

gullible |ˈgələbəl|
adjective
easily persuaded to believe something
THE RIGHT WORD
Some people will believe anything. Those who are truly gullible are the easiest to deceive, which is why they so often make fools of themselves.

Geo., it looks to me, regrettably, that he’s back already, and, as the proverb goes, to “cement the status quo.”

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 22, 2012 @ 5:31 pm

Carl, you are just being facetious again, right?

Carl, you are just being facetious again, right?

No, TP, I asked YOU to tell us the details here, since you present yourself to be the insider knowing the truth of what really went on.
If you can’t or won’t do that, then it can only be assumed here that you are just bloviating again, and your claims are just fantasy of your own making.

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 22, 2012 @ 3:39 pm

Well then, since you are so much more of an insider “in the know” than anyone else here, detail for our edification the deal that was cut.

“in today’s chancellor’s diary [on OCA.org] he’s promoting a Mark Stokoe interview!”
“The more things change, the more they stay the same.”
Etymology
English translation of French plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose
A proverb making the observation that turbulent changes do not affect reality on a deeper level other than to cement the status quo.

“Metropolitan Jonah couldn’t get along with the Synod.”

How about, rather, the Synod (and the Syosset adm.) couldn’t get along with Met. Jonah?

Extra! Syosset Reports of Deal Struck with Met. Jonah Not True

Bishop Tikhon Fitzgerald says:

M. Stankovich … quotes the Golden-mouthed smugly and piously and then shows his own Garbage-mouth.

And he probably thinks that we miss or overlook that.

» Posted By PdnNJ On December 22, 2012 @ 8:27 pm

Mr. Stankovich has shown himself incapable of answering questions directed to him here.
The cause may have something to do with the people he must encounter in his work.

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 30, 2012 @ 11:51 am

Your kahunas run out of answers for you?

Hey Carl, how does the “generous” $40,000 compare to the salaries of the “office boys” at Syosett?
Could/would YOU live and adequitely support your family in Berkeley CA on that salary?

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 28, 2012 @ 12:02 pm

Could it be their plan to keep Jonah muzzled and confined and from a following gathering around him?

Personally, I’m puzzled and perplexed why any congratulating hierarch would thereby accept Met. Jonah being denied his right to due process as specified by the Holy Canons of our Church?

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 19, 2012 @ 6:53 pm

Fr. John, are you saying that the Canons of the Orthodox Church that deal with the administration of the Church are not obligatory?

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 19, 2012 @ 6:45 pm

So is Bishop Tikhon (Fitzgerald)

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 19, 2012 @ 6:21 pm

I’m puzzled why all the congratulating hierarchs would go along with +Jonah being denied his canonical right to due process.

gloat |glōt|
verb [ intrans. ]
contemplate or dwell on one’s own success or another’s misfortune with smugness or malignant pleasure.

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 19, 2012 @ 6:03 pm

Well, those who do will announce their agreement with Met. Jonah being deprived of his canonical right to due process with respect to the charges against him. Not good!

» Posted By PdnNJ On November 15, 2012 @ 3:15 pm

It was a “robber” council because it was the culmination of Met. Jonah being “robbed” of his canonical right to due process wrt the charges against him by those who instigated and conducted it.

Didn’t slur “the Church.”
Be careful what you accuse others of based on your own misunderstanding.
