Most Holy Theotokos Rescuer of the Perishing is an Orthodox assisted living facility for Orthodox Christians nearing the end of life.
The need for this kind of facility arose from their experience with Evangelos.
A few years ago, during Great Lent an Orthodox priest was sitting in the trapeza with his parishioners after Divine Services and mentioned that there existed a certain Orthodox man who was in a very bad way. His name was Evangelos. He had had an accident and was lying lifeless and forlorn in a run-down nursing home in Saint Petersburg. The priest asked that some of the parishioners visit him and pray for him.
When the parishioners arrived at the nursing home, they found him lying in his bed, a shell of a man. The priest and parishioners had discovered that he was an Orthodox Christian who had no close relatives nearby to care for him. During that Great Lent, the faithful spiritually adopted him, visiting him in his bed of suffering. At the end of Great Lent on Lazarus Saturday Evangelos reposed after receiving the Holy Mysteries of the Orthodox Church.

Texas will remind us what the true majority of Americans consist of. The people of the United States are the most generous and caring in the world. Unfortunate that we only witness the true good nature of our people during disasters. If we only witness what the media has feed us since the election, most would believe we are a nation split by racists on the right, and do gooders of the left fighting said racists. This is not reality the mass majority of us are not racist and don’t care the color of our neighbors, brothers and sisters. Most of us just want to be treated equally and always respect others as we would want to be respected. No matter how hard the leftist MSM will trivialize the Trump’s lack of optics concerns;shoes, hats, bags, etc, while visiting Texas. The divisive hate their cohorts display,during a great disaster. They can’t help themselves. They have no shame.True America will show it’s true character, love for thy neighbor will shine thru regardless of the demon’s distractions.
